With full credit to the people who captured these clips (mostly @GifLord ), here are all the goals we've conceded in the league this season:

I'm spotting a theme here. And it's mostly about how shit we are at defending corners. Second biggest issue is Lindelof losing headers or being outmuscled.

This thread makes for painful viewing.

How VAR did not see a problem with the Everton goal is beyond my understanding. Calvin-Lewis clearly impedes De Gea. It wasn't even a difficult decision.

Zonal marking makes our defenders look poorer than they are as the attackers are getting a free run at the goal. They are carrying more momentum and can outmuscle our defenders. We need a solid blocker who can put the block in if we are to keep persisting with zonal marking.

De Gea isn't covering himself in glory in a lot of them clips. More so early in the season i suppose. Pretty poor or no pressure on the wings in a few clips

Some of those goals are hard to take. A couple of worldies (nothing you can do about those). The others seem to be a bit of breakdown in communication, shocking defending and inexperienced players not moving up with the rest of line allowing the opposition to stay onside.

Losing to Comeback Winning!
More towards oppositions
Superb goals (not much fault here) - 3
Good goals (not much to blame here) - 2

---

More towards our players:

1) Team and individuals, disappointing, expecting better

Poor team open play defending - 4
  • Maguire - 2
  • Lindelof - 2
  • Rojo - 1
  • Young - 1
  • McT - 1
Poor Set-Piece Defending - 3
  • Mag poor twice here, lost aerial duels and markers.
  • Lindelof poor once.
  • De Gea poor once (even if it's actually a foul).
  • Clearly no good organization, and we don't have anyone suitable to organize this, players nor coaches seemingly. We're doing zonal marking??
2) Individuals, expecting better
Jones lost too easily - 1
De Gea's "mistakes" - 1

3) Individuals, weakness well exploited or got bettered by better play
Lindelof losing aerial duel - 1
AWB lost power duel - 1
Fred lost trickery duel - 1

4) Individuals, and slightly team, expected due to their lack of good exps
Tuanzebe mistake - 1
William's inexperience - 1

---

:nervous:Conclusion:
A) Poor Defensive Organization <-- biggest factor.
B) No leader actually, influential factor.
C) Individual mistakes and weaknesses exploited <-- within expectation, good defensive organization can lessen this but alas.

Phil Jones against Sheffield United. Why did Ole subject us to that.

I'd say that's the first issue.. He's good on the ball etc but just straight defending he's shaky as hell.
