Perhaps not the most enjoyable TV-game to watch, bloody decent to play if you don't have that good condition anymore and just want to move a little.

This is very interesting though to see how the best female golfer compares with the pro-men golfers.

Is she playing of the ladies tees?

I've just found out a little more about this. It might be interesting as a first. Apparently she's playing off mens' tees.

A small build-up.

I think the men are just scared of losing. If they are not, why not let her try out. Cowards the lot of them.

Well apparently Annika drives the ball 275 yds as against the 300+ yds that the top men drive it. Depending on the course layout 25-35 yds doesn't seem much of a gap if her approach play & short game are up to it. Could be interesting! Starts a week today yes?

At least Singh had the guts to say what he thought instead of some politically correct B.S. I think his major gripes were that crap male players don't compete in the LPGA, this is primarily a publicity stunt, and using an exemption for Sorenstam took a spot away from some guy who's an actual member of the PGA. Whether his concerns are legitimate I leave for folks who actually care about professional hitting a ball into a hole in the ground.

Split start, she started on the 10th. She's par'd the eleventh now.

Conditions were perfect today. She was very efficient in getting to the greens in regulation, but she only sank one birdie putt. She had two bogies and the rest pars. Good job with all that pressure.

To make the cut she will probably need to play under par. But considering her long play was good and that she was fairly shite at putting today and that she will probably be under less pressure she might make it. The problem is that as the course was easy for everyone due to the rain and thus they are all quite close there in a pack.

I understand that the rough on the PGA is a good inch thicker than on the LPGA, although Sorenstam is one of the better golfers at staying on the fairway. The greens, I'm told, are much quicker (and quirkier) on the PGA, so if her short game is at all suspect, the greens will eat her up eventually.

The pin placement for the men is usually more difficult. The women tend to hit the ball short and run it up to the green. On the men's tour they hide the flag behind bunkers so that you have to land on the green on a fly if you want to get near the hole. The men also put a lot of backspin on the ball to keep it from flying off the green, the women don't do that anywhere near as much. That may prove to be a problem.

It's interesting to watch. I think she can play pretty well again tomorrow, but I think that things will eventually catch up to her. The guys that she was playing with today weren't long hitters. It might be different if she plays against one of the top guys and if she has a couple of bad holes back to back.
