He's on 37.
6 in the CL and 31 in the league which is the highest debut scoring season in the Bundesliga since its inception. Will he get to 50?
At least one against us is written in the stars.

well, assuming he stays fit and plays all the games, he’s got 8 league games left plus a minimum of 2 CL matches. His current league rate of scoring would have him finish on 40 or 41 for the season. If he scored one in each leg against Arsenal but they go out, that would have him finish on 48-49. To hit 50 he’s going to need Bayern to progress to the next round in the CL I believe, keep up his current rate of scoring, and potentially get two or three braces or a hattrick in the league.

It’s doable, especially considering BL opposition, but I think it more likely he finishes on around 45-47 for the season. Which is still staggering when you think that Bayern sit so far behind Leverkusen, and have been far below their best of the Lewandowski years.

Really impressive season from him. Unfortunately he will not face Darmstadt or Mainz again and are up against the best defense in the PL in CL QF. He's got the by far best working conditions in Europe and is in the perfect environment to beat goalscoring records though. Will be exciting to see what number he'll end up on and if he stays fit he might have a chance to beat Lewa's record of 41 in the BL.

Some context to how good Bayern are offensively this season:

Bayern scored 13 in the last two (against bottom 2, Mainz and Darmstadt) in the BL and generated 11,9 xG (!!!) in those two matches, and Kane generated 4,91xG in those 2 matches and managed to underperform his xG despite scoring a hat trick and 4 total over the two games.

They've averaged 3,0 goals per game and generated 3,03xG/game in the BL this season which is absolutely mindblowing numbers.
The only time a team has come remotely close to these number is back when Messi, Neymar and Suarez scored 90 Laliga goals between them and Barca generated 2,99xG/game in 15/16 season. Barca 14/15 and City 19/20 the closest behind that with 2,71 and 2,69 xG/game generated.

Another interesting comparison is when Lewandowski scored 41 in 29 games in the 20/21 season Bayern produced 2,23 xG/game.

For referance. The PL numbers for this season: Arsenal 2,5 goals/game from 2,19xG/game, Liverpool 2,32 goals/game from 2,34 xG/game, City 2,25 goals/game from 2,21xG/game.............Spurs 2,11 goals/game from 1,93xG/game........Man United 1,39 goals/game from 1,62 xG/game

So you can actually say that Kane has the best ever working conditions for a striker in a top 5 league, and he probably moved there at the perfect time (except for Leverkusen's unreal seasonlong form)

He moved at the perfect time to cement his meme tier trophylessness. :wenger:

Well, i guess it will be all the sweeter when he finally does win a trophy with Bayern.

3,03 xG/game sounds very high to me. Understat has them at 2.29, fbref at 2.74, fotmob at 2.8. Where do you have these numbers from?

Even if he doesn't win the BL this year, he'll win it next year. Alonso will be off come end of the season.

It just shows that aside from the likes of Bayern and a few others, it’s easy for quality players to rack up ridiculous numbers in the BL. Hence why we shouldn’t fall for the hype of players like Sancho without doing proper due diligence.

Understat:
78.81 xG after 26 games -> 3,03xG/game.

You were looking at Leverkusens stats...

I recall Wout Weghorst as well, he scored 20 goals in a season in Bundesliga, but I daresay he will never hit 10 goals a season in the PL
