Henry was better footballer, Cantona was more than a footballer.

And yet he isn't in the top 10 French players of the century... Cantona is. As voted for by French readers of France Football. Interesting.

If they're going 1900 to 1999 then of course Henry wouldn't be in it!

Cantona literally did nothing outside the Premier league. Never did it in Europe or at international level.

Henry wasn't as impressive there as in the Premiership, but at least he has a decent body of work there.

Let’s add some context though: Cantona was blackballed by the French football authorities as trouble after calling them idiots at a disciplinary hearing yet played 45 times for his country, scoring 20 goals. He was never picked for France at his peak. Not because of his skill, but his past sins.

Henry played 123 times for his country scoring 45 goals. Henry also benefitted from being part of a World Cup winning generation of French footballers.
