How does one embed video from a tweet on this site?

Well?

Twitter gives a few options (embed tweet, embed video, copy link to tweet). None seem to result in the video linking into a post on here.

There is a "media" button on here, but it brings up a dialogue box asking me to enter a "media URL" and I can't get that to work either.

Help an old fart out please.
 
Copy the Twitter status link (the one that shows in your address bar) and put it in your post as a regular link and it should embed automatically.

I think it's something to do with the way the site refreshes (or doesn't).

It's the same when you click the 'there have been more posts, click here to see them' button, tweets don't show.

Yeah probably. They don't show when quoting someone using the quick reply either, only when you refresh.
