This week Leicester City pretty much sealed their top 4 spot (with a helping hand from Ole) and on Saturday they could win their second major silverware in the past 6 years, a remarkable achievement considering they were in League 1 in 2008.

To celebrate that achievement, we put together a 20 min video to reflect on the decisions taken both on and off the pitch to steer them on that path. One thing which stood out to me was the role Nigel Pearson had, instrumental in picking the club up time and time again after a crisis. Their board has also been fantastic as has been their transfer policy, they have not rested on their laurels since the title win.

A number of questions:
  • How easy is it for other clubs sitting in League 1 or the Championship to use them as a blueprint for success - was it all just a fluke, a one off to never be repeated? or a sign of things to come, of what is possible if smaller sides really hone in on getting all aspects of running a football club right.
  • What can bigger clubs learn from their success and the efficiency with which they go about their business
  • What other clubs have had such a remarkable transformation in such a short amount of time. What is the 'Greatest Underdog' Story of all time in football?
  • How long can they sustain this?
