I think he should be given the 7.

Memphis will react but didn't really deserve it in the first place, non of last years signings did. (Before we saw them play, Martial deserves it)

Zlatan #7 shirts would sell out more than than Any other number. If United and Adidas are thinking £££ then no.7 is the number. If not then can see him getting 11.

There's no way in hell Rooney would give up 10 and remain at the club. He has that WR10 shite and we're contractually involved with his image rights.
 
Re. The OP. Personally I would have retired the number 11 shirt.

Give zlatan an open number, its not like he will be here long enough to makenit iconic anyway

Hmm true. . either way we need to maximise Zlatan while we can. He's worth a lot to us off the pitch.
 
Sell Rooney to China and give him the #10, or give Martial the #7 and give Ibra the #9.
 
I don't care whatever number he takes but Martial should keep the number 9 unless he personally wants to take the number 7. You guys forget that in the long run martial is more important to the future of this club.

10 would be the best possible scenario, albeit the most unlikely one.

Wouldn't that be motivation enough? Seems he cares more about sports cars and image than performing. Tell him to start fecking working his socks off and he might reclaim his M7 tag in a year or two.

But I don't think it will happen, maybe Rojo (sell) and Januzaj (loan) numbers could be available.

I think Ibrahimovic will wear 11. The idea of Martial (7) and Zlatan (9) looks good, but I think Memphis will continue wearing the No.7
