If Beckham...

is able to keep up his scoring ratio, then he will, without a doubt, be world footballer of the year next season.

Becks is a fantastic player, but I've always felt that the likes of Figo, Rivaldo etc. carried more goal threat. If Becks keeps this up he can add an even greater dimension to Utd's attack - not only as a brilliant crosser of the ball, and superb free kick specialist, but as a deadly finisher.

He has all the skills. If one takes a look at his goal scoring feats one can see a spectacular range, from half way wonder goals to delicate lobs. One of my favourites was against Real Madrid when we lost 3:2 at OT. I sense Becks has matured since becoming England captain. The goal against Greece sealed him in the nation's affections. When the question was asked can Beckham stand up to the plate and deliver, he answered in the most emphatic style.

He hated being rested earlier in the season, but since comong back he's been very special.

He'll get no argument from me.

What you can never buy is passion. And what Beckham has is a passion for UTD that is second to none.

true,

one big criticism of Beckham over the yrs has been his goal ratio for club & country,
in especially the last 6 months it has mproved emensly,
Beckham is definitely a better player this minute than 12 months ago, its great to see him putting in the effort again

His goal scroing ability has really improve a lot this season, and the first goal he scroed against West Ham is just wonderful. Though whether he can win World Footballer of the Year is another thing (IMO he still not on the same level of Zidane and Figo even he can score more goals).

Glazer get to a after drink brawl with Shittu, bot
no not yet... but I think the more goals he scored now - the happier he will be and the faster he will sign it ... ;)

Crap though ... shouldn't have tought this way ... the TRUTH is - I have never a sense of doubt Beckham will extend his contract ... HE IS MANCHESTER UNITED .. it's in his blood ... and to think of his root, his buddies, family and his childhood dream are all in this place call Manchester United ... it's just NOT POSSIBLE for me to change my mindset that he'll be playing soccer elsewhere in his career ...
Well I think all of you hope I am right .. ;)

passion's the right word.

He's playng with passion again, after being dropped... he's got the same hunger for United as he's got for England. TBH honest, its the best i've seen him play for over a year...

i've said before, a hungery and fit Becks is a world class player......

why ?
We already have 4 very good CM competing for 2 places.
But on the right side he is simply (together with Figo) the best in the world.
So he is more important for us on the wing with the freedom to drift inside at times than things in midfield don`t work well imo.

Greatness ...... well about 10 games from it actua
I just wish Beckham could get treatment from every crowd like the treatment he gets from the west ham idiots - it seem to make him play his best football and when becks plays his best so does the whole team !

remeber 98 WC -sent off etc etc ... what year followed eeeerrrrrrrr 99' - becks was fecking magic that season also !!

"go on away fans shout some abuse ... your bound to effect his game !!" ;)

no offence becks <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

 Since the treble season don't you mean? ;) That becks, he's a one trick pony - he can only take free kicks. I've gotta praise Alex on this one, dropping Becks restored his fitness and passion and has really got the best out of him. But beyond that he saw that someone with Beckham's accuracy should be able to score goals, and managed to change David's image of himself from provider to goal-scorer too. I think these goals will be a permanent part of his game now, in addition to the free kicks, crosses, cross field passes, one touch football, tackling back, running, movement, interchange etc. that he brings to the game.
