Morata is better than those 3 and has a higher ceiling as well
 
Ideally i would want Bale in a potential swap deal, but there are some big concerns about his injury record. No point in buying a player for big money if he is going to spend more time in the physio room than on the pitch

I'd say Morata would be a good (and fairly realistic) deal.
 
Can't understand why do they want De Gea when K Navas is one of their best player who already won La Liga and the Champions League
 
Probably Morata+cash is the best we can get. However I have doubts whether DDG will go at all. Too expensive for Real and they would do better spending somewhere else.
 
Well, swap deals never happen, and I doubt the fee will be huge because he's s goalkeeper. £50m is probably in the right ballpark.

It would need to be significantly more than a replacement would cost. If Oblak's going for £40m, it would need to be closer to £60m for DDG.
 
I would take Isco but real wouldn't sell him best option would be Morata even that looks difficult given the decline of benzema.

I would take 50-60 mil.

Bale would be perfect. You are right about his injuries though.

Not convinced about Morata.

I would love to get one of Kroos/Modric or Marcelo.
It is a bit frustrating that nobody even thinks about such deals but in discussions it is always one of our top players for them and one of their benchwarmers for us.

I dont agree. Soon 25 years old and haven't shown anything special. Thats why Real Madrid are willing to sell him and are targeting other players like Mbappe. They simply dont believe he is starting striker quality. Otherwise they would keep him.

Exactly. Madrid have plenty of talent in their squad and many of them will walk straight into our team.

Players like Morata might be bench players for Madrid but he was important player for Juventus especially in CL. Same with James, at any other club he will start every game.

Well I do not say James or Morata are not top players. I just do not think they are what we really need.

Morata is good striker and James is goal scoring midfielder, he played plenty of times as RW, he might not dribble past few players but he can surely pick a pass.

I can see the other side of the arguments too as we all want different type of players playing for ManUtd, what I'm saying is player + cash deal is better for ManUtd than just selling for cash.

Morata wants to leave and not Madrid wanting to sell. He is a complete and well rounded striker. He has been unfortunate in letting Madrid manipulate his career path. His buyback clause prevented Juve from committing to him long term and the politics of Zidane+Perez+Benzema has kept him on the bench this season, and still he has scored more than benzema and bale while playing less minutes. He is good enough to attract the attention of top clubs while there has been no confirmed interest for belotti and lukaku outside of their local leagues.

Belotti is an unproven striker with no experience outside serie A. He is worse than Morata in every category except maybe work rate.

Lukaku is an average striker that pads his stats against lower clubs. He has poor hold up play, poor in build up and average finishing.

Rashford has talent, but is far from developing into the kind of rounded striker that Morata already is. He needs to show more development before he can be compared to the level Morata currently is at. The only thing is that age is on his side and he hopefully continues to get consistent game time
 
Depends on Real plans....

If Real were in for M'Bappe or an Attacking Midfielder I feel Bale might be achievable.....Morata too obviously though Im not that bowled over by him
 
Just tell them £60 million and accept nothing less. In the mean time try and persuade De Gea to stay. Whatever happens then were on a winner. We either keep De Gea or have enough funds to buy another top goalie.

I don't get why this has become a feature every transfer window. There is no indication De Gea wants to leave.

I don't like including players. If we come asking for a player they don't want (Morata) they can charge us a huge fee. Morata will be sold for 20m euro either way. Isco could be leaving for something like 25-30m euro. If we include them as part of the deal we probably get something like 20m euro + the player. Awful deal. De Gea is going to be a top player for the next 10-12 years. We are going to look really STUPID if we sell for peanuts like 50m euro, especially in these days when you buy absolute garbage for 30m. I rather see us playing DeGea for the remainder of his contract and let him leave on a free.
 
The idea of taking a player who they are happy to get rid of would make it even worse.

Not only would they be taking one of our best players, but we would be facilitating the transfer by taking someone they don't even want.

Should be huge money or no transfer, preferably no transfer.

Marca reported that Morata had flown to Milan in anticipation of a deal around the €60m mark. Where are you getting 20m from?
 
I really don't understand why some posters think we should sell for £60. It's not like we want to sell and are looking for a buyer. If Madrid want him, they should pay premium.

Let's not forget De Gea was our best player for the last 4 seasons and still is one of the best. He adds 10-15 points a season easily.
If we keep letting them bully us, we are going to look like a 2nd rate club. It sends a message to players that if they reach a certain level, we can't handle them and they are ought to leave us. Either they pay through the nose or our manager gets the player(s) he wants from them if there are any.

Morata 20 m and Isco for 25-30 m. And you think people buy garbage for 30 m. So Isco and Morata are not even garbage standard. Well done.

You talk like United are waiting in RM's table while they go through the a la carte menu. Madrid can buggar off. 70-80 mil pounds, all up front or they know where the door is.
 
This. They take our best player and give us a player they don't want. As a matter of principle that should not happen.
Also Isco is in the last year of his contract. So Isco plus 25m doesn't make sense.
There is also no indication Dave wants to leave.

Why would he waste another season with van Gaal when its such an obvious mis match? He didnt owe us anything. Any player wouldve done the same. Hes world class on his day and LVG wasnt playing him and when he was was completely stifling him and having him play something that isnt his natural game. He wouldve had no problem here had the manager played him to his strengths, im sure of that.

2) Flo must want him badly enough to meet united's valuation

I don't think either is likely(and both things must happen)

Complete agree. I don't see it happening. Navas has been more than good enough, considering Real won the league and could potentially win the CL back to back.
 
The best deal, by some distance, would be a straight swap for Varane.

He and Bailly at centre half would be imperious.

I just don't want any players that I think would be willing to leave Real, plus I wouldn't entirely trust their attitude and commitment. Isco, Kroos, Modric are the players I'd like and we wouldn't get them. As Jose already has his list of targets, that money could instead go towards acquiring those players.
 
Pep is certainly doing us a favour by spending mad money on Benfica's keeper. Price is only going up.

I'm convinced now that this doesn't happen unless Madrid loses the CL final and Navas has a bad game. Too much money for Perez to spend on a keeper.

Makes sense. Specially since they're going to need the cash to match Pep's mad dash for Mbappe.
Real's best option would be to buy someone like Leverkusen's Bernd Leno for a reasonable amount. He can partner/challenge Navas and not break the bank. He's obviously not on DDG's level of course

This makes complete sense IMO. With a GK like Ederson going for around £30m as it stands, one can only imagine what we'd demand for De Gea, especially if he isn't handing in a transfer request. We'd probably start at £60m, and there is no way Real are paying that much. Makes me very happy though, Real don't really need him, we keep one of our genuine world-class players for at least another season.

With our financial power we're not going to get bullied again by Real. Ronaldo was a completely different situation and our debt situation was also quite difficult back around 2009, money is much less an objective these days. Mou will sell if Real make an offer we can't resist, but this very likely isn't going to happen now.
 
For all those quoting they'd only be happy with £x million, I don't think it's as simple as that. It would depend on what a suitable replacement would end up costing us. The important thing for us, if we do sell, and are looking to buy another leading goalkeeper, is to run both negotiations simultaneously, so the De Gea fee isn't known to other parties. Otherwise it weakens our position and we'll end up paying far more for a potential replacement if they know what we got for him.
