For the best part of the season so far we have been abysmal, and with our next Premier League game being away at Anfield to the current league leaders Liverpool, I may or may not have some welcome news that could bring us a possible chance of getting a result there on Sunday.
Diogo Jota is currently ruled out against us with an injury.
Why could this be a good omen?
It could be a good omen because Diogo Jota has played against us 9 times, and we have never won, with 6 losses and 3 draws:
Premier League:
(D) 22/09/2018: Man Utd 1-1 Wolves
(L) 02/04/2019: Wolves 2-1 Man Utd
(D) 19/08/2019: Wolves 1-1 Man Utd
(D) 01/02/2020: Man Utd 0-0 Wolves
(L) 13/05/2021: Man Utd 2-4 Liverpool
(L) 24/10/2021: Man Utd 0-5 Liverpool
(L) 19/04/2022: Liverpool 4-0 Man Utd
(L) 05/03/2023: Liverpool 7-0 Man Utd
FA Cup:
(L) 16/03/2019: Wolves 2-1 Man Utd
The 5 times that Jota has been ruled out through injury against us, we have never lost, with 3 wins and 2 draws:
Premier League:
(D) 17/01/2021: Liverpool 0-0 Man Utd (knee injury)
(W) 22/08/2022: Man Utd 2-1 Liverpool (hamstring injury)
FA Cup:
(D) 04/01/2020: Wolves 0-0 Man Utd (calf injury)
(W) 15/01/2020: Man Utd 1-0 Wolves (calf injury)
(W) 24/01/2021: Man Utd 3-2 Liverpool (knee injury)
If Diogo Jota is indeed ruled out against us on Sunday, then maybe, just maybe...
