You can't really fault Antony's work rate, he tries, he tracks back, he's committed. The output isn't where we want it to be, but he's still young.
You're right. We're not getting that for him.
Antony has been shit this season, but I'd say last season was clearly better than any season Sancho has had here. Which says it all considering Antony was distinctly average himself. What a nightmare transfer, I don't think people can even justify him being better than Antony.
Because the German league is shit outside the top 4 teams. If we played teams like Luton for 30 games a season he’d look brilliant here also.
Obviously the BL is just a much easier league. Look at Harry Kane semi retired, drinking beer, he's phoning it in, strolling around the place and he's still banging in the goals. It's basically a pub league at best, it has absolutely nothing to do with a player having the right mentality and working your ass off to succeed.
The CL is much slower than the PL, he got more time on the ball and he was playing for Dortmund. No big club is getting excited to play Dortmund. They’re in the perfect zone of zero expectations but good enough to cause an upset. He was doing it against the big dogs in the CL too though.
Probably twofold, BL has a lot less money and so quality drops off down the league more than the PL for me. Probably moreso though, the reports of him slacking off on gym work and not training properly likely have some truth in them, he was never rapid but I do feel the player we see now in the PL versus the BL looks more sluggish.
