I'm sure its been mentioned on here but any wingers we could bring in on loan? So desperate for a genuine wide player, what about Perisic? Inter linked with a loan deal for Lingard so a swap deal could make sense all round.
The only right wingers I could see coming in for 6 months and potentially helping us are the following. Not sure any have the quality at the moment, but Thauvin has been very productive (on pace for another 10G+10A season from the right) even if he's not that impressive to watch. Pepe would make sense too but that ain't happening surely.

1. Thauvin, who has fallen out at Marseille and even if he's signing for Milan over the summer maybe Marseille would take a couple mil or something for him and he could still go to Milan in the summer? Or someone like Lingard on loan. They need an LB pretty bad I guess so maybe Rojo, Dalot or even Alvaro from the U-23 on loan for 18 months if they think he's ready, though he's not 18 for another couple months. They're losing Sanson, so Mata or Lingard makes sense too.

2. Douglas Costa isn't playing at Bayern.

3. Bernardeschi is expected to go on loan or move permanently. This would make sense for 6 months for us, but maybe not for the player since he probably wants to go somewhere he'll definitely be first choice to try to get into the Italy side this summer. If we do go for Eriksen on loan, selling Pogba for a big chunk of cash to Juve and getting 6 months and a small option to buy for Bernardeschi isn't completely insane.

Do you think Sarr & Aarons are capable of making the step up then
He's more optimistic than most if he is serious.

Another level of mediocre disappointment maybe.

Aarons wasn't even a standout in a poor relegated Norwich team, Sarr had one good game v Liverpool and has been missing since.

We need to set the standards a bit higher.

Signings like Pellistri and Diallo are a risk, banking on they're talent but we've seen these guys in the championship and premier league and neither were very good so we need to steer clear.

Tell that to the likes of Liverpool, Leicester etc who sign quality players from relegated/inferior teams. Many players who are signed in this way don't necessarily stand out before stepping up.

Robertson at Hull wasn't exactly setting the world alight. He only managed 2 assists in a full season with Hull in the PL.

Attitudes like "we should set the standards higher" is exactly what costs us £50-£120m every time we want to buy a player.

Agree, there are exceptions to the rule.

But Aarons will cost 20mil+, Sarr has already been touted at the 40mil mark. Hardly" bargains"

Thats heck of a gamble for two players who haven't shown that much promise. Sarr is a non runner since we signed Pellistri and Diallo anyway

We wont be signing Aarons for that amount of money to sit on the bench either.

Aarons is no better than say, Williams or Dalot if we wanted to recall him. Laird is hyped up a lot. So thats three potential players on our books already before we spend 20mil+ on Aarons. There's no logic in it at all.

Ings has confirmed he wants to move to a Champions League club. Apparently played every game last year so injury troubles might be behind him. Will a top club look to snatch him up?

excellent player, don't think would take him here due to his Liverpool connection, could see him at city if Aguero decides its time to go, he is better the Jesus as well anyway

His liverpool connection was really poor, I wouldn't mind having him here.
