Slow for the Premier leagueSurprised at all the “No’s”, any reason?
We also have Shaw for another season so for me that is too many CBs, given we would also have the likes of Kukonki as emergency back-up.Love the idea of this. Not spending any mad transfer fee. He currently only earns 50k a week so you're not needing to go fecking mental here.
If we have a defence of
de Ligt
Martinez
Yoro
Tah
Maguire
Mazraoui
Heaven
Then we will be in insane shape at the back for once.
Shaw should be playing wing back anyway, but his delivery is miles better than Dorgu it's not even funny. We also have Shaw for another season so for me that is too many CBs, given we would also have the likes of Kukonki as emergency back-up.
For me, Tah would only make sense if we had interest in Maguire and we could shift him on for 15-20m.
Yup, should be this, especially considering Madrid's CB situation. If not that Bayern or Barca are way better options for him.Probably Alonso’s first Real signing.
This is what I was thinking as they're crying out for CBs, unless Bayern/Barca get to him first.Probably Alonso’s first Real signing.
It’s a direct replacement for Lindelof.I thought he was off to Bayern.
Can’t say I’ve seen much of him but he’s used to being in a back 3 and it may give them room to try and sell Maguire and raise some cash off the back of a half decent season from him.
Don't really need to replace him though. We already have Maz/Yoro for RCB, Maguire/DeLigt for CCB & Licha/Heaven/Shaw for LCB. Also got the youth kids who should get some appearances next season. It’s a direct replacement for Lindelof.
That's very light in quality.Don't really need to replace him though. We already have Maz/Yoro for RCB, Maguire/DeLigt for CCB & Licha/Heaven/Shaw for LCB. Also got the youth kids who should get some appearances next season.
All of the senior players listed here are either often injured (De Ligt/Martinez) not good enough (Maguire) or not even really a CB (Maz) we need better if we are going to improve.Don't really need to replace him though. We already have Maz/Yoro for RCB, Maguire/DeLigt for CCB & Licha/Heaven/Shaw for LCB. Also got the youth kids who should get some appearances next season.
Maguire might well move on to be honest. He's not a starter when everyone is fit so he’s got one year left as a squad player or does he try and get one last big contract elsewhere. He’s not young but I could see him getting one last 2-3 year deal elsewhere if he moves this summer. We’ve got Maguire, Yoro, De Ligt, Martinez, Shaw, Mazraoui, Heaven, Fredricksen and Kukonki for three positions even with Lindelof thankfully leaving so unless we’re moving Maguire on to bring in funds I don’t see why we’d target another centre back although Tah is far quicker than Maguire or De Ligt whilst being great in the air too.
I’ve been supporting the idea of free transfers this summer as some players that are available on a free this summer are better than what actually already have like Meret, Anguissa, Gomes, Bardghji and David and if those 5 were brought in to replace Onana, Casemiro, Eriksen, Antony and a void up front we’d be better off without any fees and better off wages wise also.
Our defense is in a bad shape and there are rumours that there might be a rather big overhaul, with Dier already out and Kim likely to follow. All while it is unclear if Ito can make a comeback from his now multiple foot fractures. Tah is the biggest rumour right now and Real and Barca are apparently also interested.I think Bayern tried to buy him last summer but he stayed probably looking to cash in on a Bosman.
Not sure what shape the Bayern defence is in these days
Utd have to be careful wages wise but seems like the way they do it now is giving players hefty signing bonuses.
Would be a decent replacement for Lindelof and Evan’s, we don’t know what kind of shape Martinez will be in next season
As I said mate if it’s so we can bring in £10-£15 million for Maguire then I’m all for it as Maguire is on £190K a week and Tah is currently on £50K a week so even if we tripled his wages it’s three quarters of Maguire’s plus Maguire’s potential fee, then you throw in Lindelof on £120K a week and Evans on £65K a week both coming off the wage bill and you’re looking at around £1 million a month in wages saved.Maguire might well move on to be honest. He's not a starter when everyone is fit so he’s got one year left as a squad player or does he try and get one last big contract elsewhere. He’s not young but I could see him getting one last 2-3 year deal elsewhere if he moves this summer.
Shaw can’t be counted on to stay fit and likely suits LCB in certain games only + Martinez might be in a similar boat. Maz isn’t a proper CB though he deputises well.
We have a lot of players who can play CB but very few top CBs.
Yeah I guess the last big earners pre Ineos on the books are Rashy, Bruno, Maguire, Case? Aside from Bruno, all are likely (to varying degrees) to leave this summer in my opinion. As I said mate if it’s so we can bring in £10-£15 million for Maguire then I’m all for it as Maguire is on £190K a week and Tah is currently on £50K a week so even if we tripled his wages it’s three quarters of Maguire’s plus Maguire’s potential fee, then you throw in Lindelof on £120K a week and Evans on £65K a week both coming off the wage bill and you’re looking at around £1 million a month in wages saved.
If the club have a genuine plan in place then we’ve no choice but to accept it and trust them but if it’s just a case of bringing players in because they’re free with no plan to move players on and just hoping someone comes in for them then I’m not for it at all as we’ve got a bloated wage bill full of players that don’t fit yet another coaches set up and should already be working behind the scenes on outgoings and incomings so they’re in place by early July and Amorim can be given the best chance possible through pre season.
