basically ditch the shite, the average, the crocked, the error prone, the inconsistent, the unfit and theres where you are at - prospects who may turn out shit but havent done anything wrong yet plus Bruno and Martinez.

we need to start signing more industrious and humble players, not cnuts who come in on 400k a week expecting others on the pitch to do all the simple stuff and grafting

Gotta love this type of thread. Daydreaming in technicolour. Just a reminder that you can only sell what someone is prepared to buy.
Now - try again!

Everyone wants to keep Shaw. Yeah what a brilliant servant he has been. Having him in the dressing room dishing out orders to the youth players as he is our long servant and experience player. He is always injured and never fit. Only thing he should be dishing out is the gravy for the Christmas turkey. How the standards have dropped.

Ultimately, this would be too difficult to do in one window. Some players will just let their contracts go down like Evans, Eriksen and Martial. There’s a few players who United could sell but would never get a fee that would suit us.

Bruno was a really hard one. I think he is a great player, his availability and stamina are second to none, but he is a player for a VERY specific style. And that style may or may not be what we need in the future, so he is neither clear ditch nor clear keep. Also you can only afford somebody like him if the rest of the team is super not wasteful. probably more ditch, though.

1 Altay Bayindir (G) - Keep: He's only backup.

22Tom Heaton (G) - Keep: He's 3rd choice keeper.

24Andre Onana (G) - Last Chance. We only just signed him.

2Victor Lindelof (D) - Ditch: Passive defender means he doesn't suit to the way how the manager wants us to play. He's been here since Mourinho, he had too much time and need to move on.

5Harry Maguire (D) - Last Chance. Just keep him as 4th choice then sell him in 2025.

6Lisandro Martinez (D) - Keep. He's good on the ball, proactive defender, and has the character to play for Man United.

12Tyrell Malacia (D) - Keep. Backup for Shaw and had done his job last season.

15Sergio Reguilon (D) - Ditch. To me, he's not better than Malacia and we have no reason to give Spurs money.

19Raphael Varane (D) - Ditch. He is too injury prone especially for someone with massive salary. It's also

20Diogo Dalot (D) - Ditch. This season, ten Hag decided to change his tactic because he wants to integrate the playing style that he wants us to play and one of the changes is that he demanded attacking full backs with attacking threat in the wide area instead of inverted full back. Dalot doesn't have the end product to be the attacking full back, he must go.

23Luke Shaw (D) - Keep. I think he's good enough to be ten Hag's left back.

29Aaron Wan-Bissaka (D) - Ditch. Same reason with Dalot, he's just not good enough.

35Jonny Evans (D) - Ditch. I wouldn't mind keeping as 5th CB but we shouldn't keep a 36 years old CB in the rebuilding club.

NAHannibal Mejbri (M) - Keep. There is potential in him and I thought his performance vs Burnley away was very good. He's at least good enough to be Bruno's backup.

4Sofyan Amrabat (M) - Ditch: He's not good enough.

7Mason Mount (M) - Keep - I'd give him another season at least and I think he can come good.

8Bruno Fernandes (M) - Keep - IMO, he's the only player in our current squad who is good enough to be in 2006-2009 United's squad.

14Christian Eriksen (M) - Keep - I think he's still quality player to have in the squad.

17Alejandro Garnacho (M) - Keep. There is potential in him and he has the character to play for Man United. But he needs to improve in his decision making and his end product (Goals or Assists).

18Casemiro (M) - Last Chance: If he is on 250k pw, I would have say keep but I placed him in the Last Chance because he is on 350k pw and I would like us to reset the wages structure and making 250k pw or 300k pw as our limit wages.

21Antony (M) - Ditch: He hasn't been good enough at all and has shown no end product to be attacker.

28Facundo Pellistri (M) - Ditch. His talent is mid table team IMO.

34Donny van de Beek (M) - Ditch. No manager seems rate him in here.

37Kobbie Mainoo (M) - Keep. If anything we need to start integrate this kid to the regular sport more often because I think he would be ready as regular player next season if he's getting lot of minutes this season.

39Scott McTominay (M) - Ditch. He is our top scorer this season but midfielder main job is not to score and we shouldn't be relying on McT to score goals on regular basis. He doesn't have the technical attribute and the composure to retain possession and creating chances.

9Anthony Martial (F) - Ditch. He has his chance since LVG and has shown nothing to convince me that he can lead Man United front line. He doesn't have the character to play for Man United and has injury problem as well.

10Marcus Rashford (F) - Ditch. My big issue about him is that he doesn't have the identity of what he is. He is not a winger because he can't cross, tends to make the wrong decision, and lazy to track back. He is too inconsistent to be Man United main striker because he can't hold up play and inconsistent with his goal scoring. He's too inconsistent for someone getting paid 300k or more. If he is on 100k, I would have give Last Chance.

11Rasmus Hojlund (F) - Keep. There is potential in him, he has the character to be Man United player and I actually like his movement. He reminds me of Cavani and I think if we can get less injury prone prime Cavani in him, it would be great.

16Amad Diallo (F) - Keep. I think he has the potential to be top class RW.

25Jadon Sancho (F) - Ditch. He doesn't have the character to be Man United player and he is too passive as a player. He had disciplinary issue with Dortmund previously and I am not surprised of how he fell off with ten Hag who is very strict with being discipline.

Keep:

ETH, Martinez, Shaw, Mainoo, Amad, Eriksen, Bruno, Mount, Garnacho, Hojlund, Malacia, Hannibal.

Last Chance:

Onana, Casemiro, Maguire

Ditch: The others.

Ignoring the young players,
Keep Martinez, Varane, Eriksen, Shaw, and whichever one from Bruno or Rashford that the manager prefers.

Ditch Martial, one of AWB and Dalot, Antony, McTominay, VDB(!), Sancho, Malacia.

Last chance for the rest. (Lindelof sneaks in because he can maybe play as a DM?)

Ten Hag - Ditch

Keepers -
Onana (last chance)
Bayindir (keep)
Heaton (who cares)

Defenders
Dalot - Ditch ( we can do a lot better than Dalot as a second choice RB)
Wan-Bissaka - Keep ( as a second choice RB and possibly even a makeshift CB)
Varane - Keep (If he doesn't want to leave)
Maguire - Ditch (he's shown some improved performances of late but he's still a turd. A turd no matter how polished is just that)
Lindelof - Last Chance
Martinez - Keep
Evans - Who cares ( a defender who was dropped by a relegated side gets signed by us. Sentimental signing which should never have happened)
Shaw - Keep (he and Martinez are the only ones with some credit. But Shaw gets injured for a huge period every alternate season)
Malacia - Ditch
Reguilon - Ditch

Midfielders

Casemiro
- Last Chance - Unless he fancies a move to Saudi, we won't get any takers for someone on his package. Crap decision to buy him considering his age and people who criticized his decision were right all along
Amrabat - Ditch - Shit footballer
Mainoo - Keep - he's still not infected by the rot that seems to have set in with the senior squad
Eriksen - Last Chance - Past his best , good footballer when he was at his best but was a gamble taking him after the unfortunate Euro incident. Sentiment driven purchase and shouldn't be there in a modern club
McTominay - Ditch - No point trying to do mental gymnastics reinventing him as a #10 or a support striker.
Mount - Keep - Useful player but still such a bad purchase. Keep because no one else is buying him.
Fernandes - Ditch - class player but his petulant nature and his attitude of giving up pisses me off. Shouldn't have been the captain.
Hannibal - Keep - loan him out, he's a walking red card at the moment , but loan him out and toughen him up. Doing crazy last ditch tackles isn't a strength.
Van de Beek - Ditch - didn't work out for us. shame.

Forwards

Antony
- Ditch - He'll get a half decent price somewhere , cut our losses and move away. The rumours about him(even if unsubstantiated but there's no smoke without fire). And the fact that he's the worst winger in the league.
Sancho - Ditch - I don't see any club offering that sort of money for Sancho despite the links with Juve etc though. Such a shit purchase and everyone linked with that purchase still at this club needs to feck off along with Sancho
Pellistri - Ditch - Not good enough
Amad - Keep - Keep and send on loan. People like him should be kept as far away from the current lot as possible till the squad is purged
Rashford - Ditch - I like Rashford , he's a good footballer but he thinks he's a better footballer than he actually is. I don't want someone to be there when he only switches on for 3 months every second year
Garnacho - Keep
Martial - Ditch - No Brainer. He doesn't want to be at United and it shows in his performances.
Hojlund - Keep

15 Sergio Reguilon - end loan
19 Raphael Varane - keep
20 Diogo Dalot - sell
23 Luke Shaw - keep

NA Isak Hansen-Aaroen - keep and loan
NA Hannibal Mejbri - keep and play him
4 Sofyan Amrabat - don't take up the option

So many people saying ditch Onana... he deserves another season under a proper manager and with better defenders in front of him IMO.

I’ve come to the realisation tonight that all our players are in fact painfully average.
Im hard pressed to say who would be good enough to get a spot in our last PL winning squad from 2013, which itself wasn’t great.
Bruno? Casemiro? Rashford? I’m not sure. But the standard of players we have and have had in the last ten years is woeful, no wonder we are seeing the results we are at the moment.

Surely this is more about the fee. I’d be open to selling any of them for the right price but would build a team around Obama - Licha - Mainoo - Ganacho - Amad/Antony but there’s need to be a huge amount of pace added in the transfer windows.

Keep this, ditch that. Nothing's going to change with the current executive structure at the club. Ditch all of them in the executive board, bring in people that care to push the club forward and everything else falls into place :)

Definitely Keep - Martinez, Shaw, Mainoo, Garnacho, Bruno

Definitely Ditch - Martial, Sancho, VDB (lol)

The rest I'd have in varying levels of 'Keep for now but' - sell to a good offer/they'll soon be retired or off to Saudi/loan ending anyway and not worth buying/give the youngster a couple more seasons to develop/give him another season to turn it around/use them as rotation or backup until there's a squad full of proven better options/they're already a backup and it doesn't really matter.

Just looking at the full squad list, how have we ended up with such a talentless squad? We've had bad squads over the years but this one absolutely stinks. Must be the worst collection of attackers we've ever had in the PL era, taking form into consideration?

Altay Bayindir (GK) ditch - (reports were that he wasn't that good in Turkey so certainly not good to be a No.2 at a big club like United)

Tom Heaton (GK) keep - experienced GK that can be a good pro/role model for our younger players

Andre Onana (GK) last chance - for supposed No.1 makes way too many mistakes and has some severe gaps in his GK technique. His passing is WC though

Victor Lindelof ditch - too passive for a PL defender. Can still get a good fee for him though

Harry Maguire ditch - Can bring a pretty penny on current form. Has high wages to be considered a squad player

Lisandro Martinez keep - a warrior that knows how to defend and one of the best passers we have in the team

Tyrell Malacia last chance- didn't set the world alight except for a couple of matches. Had a couple of mares and not a good injury record

Sergio Reguilon keep - good squad player to keep the starting LB on his toes. Has lots of energy, and unlike Dalot knows how to be an attacking fullback

Raphael Varane ditch - hopefully the Saudi's can take him and we can use the funds to buy someone who is younger/hungrier and has a better fitness record.

Diogo Dalot ditch - a fullback that doesn't excel at anything. Should have been sold after the Milan loan

Luke Shaw last chance - been here for close to 10 years now, but goes hot and cold in patches and has a very poor injury record

Aaron Wan-Bissaka keep - very good defensive fullback to snuff out attacking threats. Would be perfect in a side that sets up high the pitch, considering he has insane recorvery pace and is very good in 1 vs 1 situations. Still puzzled ETH doesn't use him more

Jonny Evans keep - 4th/5th choice fullback. Model pro, the only PL winner and club grown player. Perfect to have around as a good influence in the dressing room for younger players. Surprised to see so many people wanting to sell him.

Daniel Gore keep - clearly has potential. Hopefully can feature more

Hannibal Mejbri keep - very enthusiastic player that will play his heart out.

Sofyan Amrabat ditch - looks like he can't keep up with the physicality and intensity of the PL

Mason Mount keep - new signing and PL experienced.

Bruno Fernandes ditch - insane workrate and high productivity. On the flipside, goes missing in a lot of big games, has a very short temper, gives away poor foul around our box more often than not and is one of culprits that we lose possession so much. His constant habit of shoot on sight and look for the hollywood pass is one of the reasons why so many of our attacks break down and why our opponents hit us on the counter.

Christian Eriksen keep - good squad player and excellent pro signed on a free. Knows how to pass a ball and dictate the tempo of the game. Can be an asset provided he doesn't play more than 90 minutes per week.

Alejandro Garnacho keep - do I even need to elaborate?

Casemiro ditch - see Varane for reference.

Antony last chance - good work rate, but very poor productivity. At times reminds me of Dan James with less pace

Facundo Pellistri ditch - he is going to have an very good career at a midtable team somewhere in Spain

Donny van de Beek ditch - see Pellistri

Kobbie Mainoo keep - one of the players we should build our team around

Scott McTominay ditch - hopefully West Ham are still interested.

Anthony Martial ditch - the fact that he has survived since Ole's 2nd season in charge is a mystery to me. Helps when Joel thinks you are an untouchable asset

Marcus Rashford ditch - tracking your player and running your bollocks off should be the minimum requirement for a Man Utd player. Should be sold as soon as we get an offer.

Rasmus Hojlund keep - will come good with time. Needs a PL proven forward to take the spotlight of him for a while

Amad Diallo keep - let's hope he can hit the ground running.

Jadon Sancho ditch - if you disagree with the manager then put in a shift, train hard and instruct your agent to find you a new club, instead of behaving like a 14 year old high on ketamines

Everybody goes bar Rasmus, Garnacho, Shaw and Mainoo and the tea lady. Too many last chance saloons have been handed out

Why do so many people want to keep Shaw?? He’s been here for 10 years and is inconsistent and always injured

Good point. He's on Varane's territory for me. Good squad player.

Fitness wise, they both are not reliable. But their class when fully fit is unquestionable.

Goalkeepers:
Andre Onana: Last Chance - He's shown glimpses of being a good keeper, has made a lot of mistakes but we only signed him this summer. It's only fair to give him time to improve.
Altay Bayindir: Keep - Happy to be 2nd choice, no point in selling him.
Tom Heaton: Keep - Useful 3rd choice option.

Right Backs:
Aaron Wan-Bissaka: Keep - Good defensively, hasn't got an all-round game and can definitely be improved on but he is good enough, and can always be a rotation option should we get a better RB.
Diogo Dalot: Ditch - Wan-Bissaka is just a better asset. Dalot hasn't got much to his game defensively or offensively, and has been poor aside from the beginning of last season.

Centre Backs:
Lisandro Martinez: Keep - He is our best CB when he's fit, good on the ball and actually good at winning aerial challenges despite his height. Injury prone but not enough to say ditch.
Raphael Varane: Last Chance - He's our 2nd best CB but with his injury record, he isn't really as reliable as you'd hope. Big fan of him personally though so hard to say ditch but we do need another CB if he can't stay fit and he is paid too much to sit on the bench.
Harry Maguire: Last Chance - If he's happy to stay and be our 3rd choice CB then keep but he has had runs (seasons) of horrific form in the past. Always thought he was very overhated but he isn't good enough to be starting CB regardless of his recent form.
Victor Lindelof: Last Chance - Too weak for a CB, isn't good enough for our team but would keep if he's happy being 4th choice CB.
Jonny Evans: Ditch - He's 35.

Left Backs:
Luke Shaw: Keep - Has his moments of poor form and poor fitness but when he's fit he is a good player. Might be a bit bias since he's my favourite United player but I would hate for us to sell him.
Tyrell Malacia: Ditch - Haven't seen anything from him to suggest he'll become good enough to even be 2nd choice LB.
Sergio Reguilon: Ditch - I don't think he's been bad and if he was our player, I would say keep as backup but I wouldn't sign him on a permanent deal at this moment.

Centre/Defensive Midfielders:
Casemiro: Ditch - Has fitness issues and has been poor for a while now. I like him as a player but we would benefit so much from having a younger and fitter DM, and Casemiro isn't going to be 2nd choice.
Scott McTominay: Last Chance - He's our top scorer this season, so it'd be harsh to say sell but he just isn't good enough to be a regular starter. If he's happy with the occassional sub appearance then keep.
Sofyan Amrabat: Ditch - Haven't seen enough positives to justify signing him on a permanent deal.
Donny Van der Beek: Ditch - Isn't good enough, was never good enough. Might have an agenda due to people acting like Ole was benching prime Zidane when he wasn't being played.
Kobbie Mainoo: Keep - Baller.

Attacking Midfielders:
Bruno Fernandes: Keep - He's just our best player, just can't justify selling him. He can be a crybaby, and has zero ball retention, would be awful for a possession based team but he just has to stay.
Mason Mount: Ditch - Not sure why we signed him, didn't rate him at Chelsea, I don't rate him here. He's basically a less creative and talented Bruno.
Hannibal Mejbri: Last Chance - Think he deserves more of a chance in the team but I don't see him becoming good enough to be a starter.

Wingers:
Shola Shoretire: Ditch - Not good.
Marcus Rashford: Last Chance - Purple patch player, when he's not in form he offers absolutely nothing but I would keep him in the squad. Though, if someone comes in offering 50m+ then sell.
Jadon Sancho: Ditch - I liked him at Dortmund but I can't say he hasn't been anything but a failure here. Attitude problems, along with not being very good at football means we have to let him leave.
Alejandro Garnarcho: Keep - Another baller.
Antony: Last Chance - He tries hard but he just isn't very good. Sell if he doesn't improve.
Facundo Pellestri: Ditch - Deserves more of a chance in the first team but still don't think he'll ever be good enough.

Strikers:
Rasmus Hojlund: Keep - Hasn't been very good for us but he's shown moments of talent in the CL. Only signed this summer though, and deserves time.
Anthony Martial: Ditch - Would terminate his contract right now if I could.

Obviously isn't realistic to ditch half of our first team squad so tried to say last chance for players I'd keep as squad players too. I would keep ten Hag too, I like him as a manager. I don't know how people can say ditch Ten Hag and 90% of our first team squad; if 90% of our squad isn't good enough then what do you expect to happen if we sack our manager and hire a new one?

Glasgow resident these days.
Of the big earners (who make a difference to how we operate as a club). Ditch the following if we want to improve:
Sancho
Rashford
Fernandes
Martial
Antony
Onana

I appreciate we can’t get rid of many as no one will buy them but they are th biggest problems in terms of performance and wages. We have many issues but they are key for me.

feck me, how can anyone watch Lindelof play and want to fecking keep him. Doesn't matter what fecking choice defender he is, a defender is supposed to fecking defend not constantly back off from making a fecking challenge.

Same goes for any of these lot, none of these deserve any more chances they need to feck off

Maguire
Shaw
Dalot
Wan-Bissaka
Martial
McTominay

GK
Andre Onana. Ditch. His goalkeeping is terminal.
Altay Bayindir. Keep. 6FT 6" Turkish international, surely can't be bad as a backup.
Tom Heaton. Keep. Solid pro, reliable when needed.

RB
Diogo Dalot. Last chance. Only because of the amount of work needed elsewhere. Tolerable as utility player.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Ditch. Shocked he is a Premier League footballer.

CB
Victor Lindelof. Ditch. Consistently mediocre.
Harry Maguire. Ditch. Doesn't belong at a club that wants to win things.
Lisandro Martinez. Keep. Will eventually be shown to be inadequate but we can't change everyone.
Raphael Varane. Keep. Still best defender at the club. If Saudi over silly money we can reinvest with I'd be happt to sell though.
Jonny Evans. Keep. Hasn't looked past it so far this season, might be worth having as 5th/6th CB or U23 pro role.

LB
Luke Shaw. Keep. Remains one of our better players.
Sergio Reguilon. Keep. Decent back up if can be bought at the right money. Plays with the approach a Utd full back should have.
Tyrell Malacia. Ditch. Just isn't up to it. We've sold better full backs before.

DM
Casemiro. Ditch. We were only ever going to get 2 good years ma from him and this one has been a disaster.
Amrabat. Keep. Will be a reasonable priced squad midfielder.
McTominay. Ditch. Proven to not have enough ability.
Mainoo. Keep. Hasn't put a foot wrong yet.

CM/AM
Bruno. Ditch. Only going to be a depreciating asset. We need a midfield that controls games and he is too wasteful.
Eriksen. Ditch. Quality player but we've got our value out of him now.
Mount. Last Chance. With sale of above he'd get more game time, and probably by a manager that knows how to use him.
Donny. Ditch. Will be playing in Belgium within a few years.
Hannibal. Last chance.

FWD
Rashford. Ditch.
Martial. Ditch.
Garnacho. Keep.
Pellistri. Last chance.
Antony. Ditch
Hojlund. Keep.
Sancho. Ditch.
Diallo. Last chance.

This is all fantasy of course. By this I make it 6 first teamers we need brought in plus the other depth.
