Luis Diaz

Saw someone post on Twitter that he's basically Mane without the finishing and I think that's pretty accurate. I like him but he's frustrating once he's in or around the penalty area, both in finishing and decision making. He could be a 20 goals, 10 assists forward for us if he improves in those categories but given his age, if it's not there right now I doubt it will ever come. Which is why I prefer Jota starting, always has a goal in him, even if it comes out of nowhere.
I understand your argument but you doubt lack goals overall. Diaz is levels above Jota in open play. I think Jota is a player where attacks go to die at times.

Jota has been outstanding this season. Top of his game. Easily our second best forward.

That does happen when Jota is trying to play his way back to full fitness. Which unfortunately happens too often. :(

But Jota is just ridiculous in front of goal. I would have him in Diaz's place every single time. And I think Diaz is good too, just not as good as Jota.

Already seen as fake news according to Sam Lee
It seems so.

But this journalist has reported first the Omorodian medical fail at Chelsea and Zaragoza from Bayern Munich to Osasuna.....therefore he must have some good contacts.

Don't think we'd sell to City even if they were interested tbh.

Rivalry my arse if true. It's just two fanbases that have trauma bonded as a result of what we put them through in the 90s and 00s.

Apparently Barcelona very interested. There's a rumoured transfer fee of €85m which surely can't be real, but even if it's half of that I think we'll be laughing our way to the bank on this one.

I always thought he was a good player but speaking to a few Liverpool fans recently and they want him gone. Just shows the different views when you watch the player every week.

He’s a good squad player, but not integral to the side. Would be a great sale for them to be honest.

Would also kill off a Rashford transfer.

Raphinha plus like £35m I reckon, Barca the shadiest of operators and will cash in on his this season. Plus Raphinha makes sense for Pool.

He'd be on half of he wages. Similar fee probably. Better all round player and a harder worker. PR company can only do so much. Let's hope Liverpool price them out of a deal. We have an English legend here looking for a fresh start

Both this one and the account cited just look like shitposting Barca fan accounts. Little chance of that happening, and no chance at that price.

Raphinha is the best player in the world this season, for sure top 3. Why on Earth would they swap him for Diaz and pay additional 35 mil ? Raphinha in Champions League alone scored 13 goals and add 9 assists in 14 games.

In La Liga he has 18 goals and 9 assist

Diaz has 13 goals and 5 assist in the league playing for the best team in 35 games. In Champions League he scored 3 goals.

So Raphinha 31 goals and 18 assists
Diaz 16 goals and 5 assist

Sorry but this must be the most „i have no idea what i am taking about post” i read in a while.

It was first mentioned by someone names Toni Juanmarti (but not a clue how reliable he is):

And by Mundo Deportivo today:

I think there's some truth to it that Barca are interested and Diaz would be eager to join them, but whether it happens is an entirely different question. And I agree that it wouldn't be for €85m  But like I said I think Liverpool would be happy with half of that.

I read that Raphinha was close to an extension at Barca. Also no idea how it would make sense for him, he's had a dream season in Spain and I don't think he'll be eager to return to NW England now that he's finally in Barcelona, being a Brazilian :D

I'd happily pay that £35m on top of Diaz if Barca would consider such a swap deal, mind, but not happening that.

I meant pool pay them  Barca need income.
I think they will sell him, I don't disagree he's been the best, but he's 28/29 and I reckon they are desperate for coin.

I honestly see no difference between Rio de Janeiro and Wallasey apart from whenever I was in the latter as a kid I swear everywhere had quicksand warnings.

He's been an important player for us this season, I hope that he stays. He seems to understand Salah's play very well and makes the runs that Salah seems to look for. £85m is a lot, but I'd rather keep our better players.

I wouldn't sell him personally. More important than Jota, Chiesa and Nunez out of the forward players we have.

You've posted this as if it's the Leeds Rapha

How on earth would swapping their top performing player AND £35m for Diaz make any sense at all?

I don't doubt it'd make sense for Liverpool - would be their biggest rob since selling Coutinho!

Look a few posts up! Obviously Barca would pay the fee

He's started 27 league games out of the 35 he was available this season, scoring 13 goals. I'd say he's more than just a squad player for them, more like important first-team regular. But yes, if they got €85m for him at 28, for a player that really relies on pace, can't argue with that.

Who knows with Barcelona but to me a CB, GK, and real backup striker to take some of the load off 36-year-old Lewandowski all seem like much bigger priorities than a LW who will basically compete with Ferran Torres to back up Raphinha.

Doubt Barca can afford to spend 85m on a player, sounds like bollox to me.

what are you smoking?

35m and Luis Diaz for probably the Balon Dor winner.....

How are Barcelona gonna stump up that much money? Also that would kill rashfords dream of a move to Barcelona.

Barcelona president said a few days ago that a new contract for raphinha was a priority this summer.

I'm more calm about the Cunha fee now that I saw that Simmons went for 80M EUR and Diaz fee is also around that number

I'd sell for 85m. Good player but 85m let's us pursue a player better than good.

Joao Pedro is "available" for... around €70m

Looks like £62m barely gets you a top Championship striker these days, so yeah if Cunha can replicate his form of this season at United for a few years he'll definitely look like a bargain.
