I've read significant articles this morning in The Times (2 articles - Henry Winter on Woodward, Paul Hirst on Arnold), Guardian, Telegraph and Independent. Quite the PR onslaught - the press has obviously been thoroughly briefed. The dominant theme in this stream of pr bullshit is what a great guy Woodward is. Sure he's made a mistake here and there, but his heart is in the right place, he's addicted to the club and he felt he had to resign because he didn't believe in the Super League. Basically, he's a top bloke. Woodward's friend Arnold is now stepping in as his replacement; he's another great guy who was behind the country-specific sponsorship deals (yes the noodles and pillows deals) and - guess what? - he's even going to work from Manchester, not Mayfair. Sounds like we can all relax, and rest easy. We're obviously in good hands.
