Haha yes, it's quite insane that the likes of Cantona, Yorke, Evra, Vidic and DDG are being omitted. Not to mention Rooney in his prime. Those were truly days of merry abundance.

Peter Schmeichel, simply the best keeper I have seen.

Tony Dunne was very quick, defensively very good, but was brilliant as an overlapping full back.

Denis Irwin, very similar to Dunne, but could also take free kicks, and had a terrific shot on him.

Duncan Edwards was possibly the greatest of all. Not seen him live, but film of him shows a player with no weaknesses, my Dad said he was the best player he had ever seen.

Jaap Stam, a colossus at the back, brilliant all round defender.

Roy Keane, captain, the man who would die for the cause, and with Edwards and Stam would form a terrifically difficult centre for anyone to try to penetrate.

Christiano Ronaldo, one of the most gifted players I have ever seen, had it all, as well as bags of courage.

Bobby Charlton, supremo, would glide around a football pitch, terrific ability on the ball, could shoot from almost 40 yards from goal.

Tommy Taylor, again not seen him live, only on film, but as a Centre Forward had it all, pace, two footed, great header of the ball, could hold it up, bring other players into the game, drag the centre halves all over the pitch, make runs in behind, and could finish very well.

Paul Scholes, magician, could control the tempo of a game, create lots of things, but a scorer of brilliant goals, technically superb.

George Best was the king of dribble, could beat 4,5,6 players in one run, create for others, and score terrific goals. That is my team, and would back that team to beat any other in the world.

Tough to leave Best (bit before my time), Becks and Rooney out. Same too for Robson.

It's almost a coin flip for Schmeichel or VDS but I saw more of VDS playing in the years I was going to OT regularly so he's kind of automatically my favourite. If only we'd have got him earlier, he was class and maybe the biggest bargain ever!
