Man of the Match

While accepting Thorpe's knock to have been critical importance I would have given Flintoff the man of the match award. His bowling was also critical he took important wickets at important times and they included some of West Indies top players not tail Enders. His fielding was first class also taking some important catches and of course he made an important 50 odd to see England home with Key.

If I could give it to a member of the losing team I might have been tempted to give it to Dwayne Bravo. But I'd have given Thorpe the nod anyway over Flintoff as the pressure he was playing under made his knock all the more brilliant. Close call though.
