FA Community Shield 2011
Manchester City v Manchester United
Sunday, 7th August 2011, 14:30 BST
Wembley, London

Referee: Phil Dowd

○ The game starts at 14:30 BST.

○ I don't know why, but Champions of England are not home team this year... weird.

○ No link to Veetle stream this time, as I'm watching the game on the telly.

I think that if we play the team that started tonight, obviously with Anderson/Cleverley in for Scholes, we'll win.

Rafael
Ferdinand
Vidic
Evra

Nani
Carrick
Ceverly
Young

Berbatov
Rooney

Anderson played the full 90 minutes which is why im leaning towards cleverley starting.

No scholes :(

Team should be...

GK: De Gea

RB: Fabio
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

CM: Cleverley
CM: Giggs
CM: Anderson

RW: Nani
CF: Rooney
LW: Young

Subs: Lindegaard, Rafael, Smalling, Jones, Park, Berbatov, Owen

I'll go for 1-1, Rooney for us, Dzeko for them. We take it in penalties De Gea being the hero

I don't think Fergie is the kind of man to make 6 in a game like this, but it really does show it's a bit of a friendly. Can't let that lot win though.

I'm not saying he wouldn't have in the past, but against City I reckon it'll be more competitive. Dunno, could be talkin out of my arse.

Carrick has been ruled out of this game.

And I'm pretty sure K.O. is 15.00 - build up starts at 14.30.

Should be a good game, can't wait even though it's only the CS.

No Fletcher and no Carrick... will be tricky to get the ball off them...

Three-man midfield is a must, unless City takes this game as seriously as we and Chelsea did last season. Not at all, that is.

No Carrick or Fletcher leaves us looking without a balanced midfield two. Hope Carrick's not to badly injured.

I'd play Anderson, Cleverly and Park with Rooney up front on his own with Nani and Young. Would like to see Welbeck, Berbatov, Fabio and Jones all get some game-time.

Result is secondary in the CS whoever we are playing for me. I'd like to see Anderson get an important role in midfield and Cleverly given a decent test with some gametime. If we don't sign Sneijder Anderson becomes important to how the season unfolds and we all know what Giggs can do in central midfield.

Is Valencia injured????

Took part in a training game this morning (was televised) so should be back for the first league game.

Valencia didn't feature at all.

Rafael could get the nod ahead of Fabio if fit, don't really want Jones in the middle but he does add balance.

feck playing one upfront it's only the charity shield.

On preseason form Welbeck deserves 45 minutes at least.

Give Anderson and Cleverly an opportunity to prove we don't need to sign.

So no one really cares about this then? Only 35 replies before a matchday.. lower than friendlies?

Anyway, i think we will win 2-1.
