    Varane
    Lindelof
    Shaw

    Casemiro
    Fred
    Bruno

    Garnacho
    Sancho
    Rashford

Play on the counter, it would be up to Awb, Casemiro, Fred, Shaw to win their duels against city four behind Haaland, and Bruno disrupting Rodri's rhythm. No room for Eriksen. If we can achieve this we've got a chance.

Feel similar to how I felt before the Champions League final in 2011. We're going to need some incredible performances and a huge slice of luck.

I'd be tempted to try something completely different in terms of formation. I like having the directness of Rashford and Garnacho, they can both create something from nothing which we will need, but I think Walker would nulify the left hand side.

If we had Sabitzer fit, I'd have maybe gone for 4-4-2 diamond, with Casemiro, Fred, Sabitzer, Bruno packing the midfield. Lots of energy to try and keep them at bay and maybe nick something high up the park to set up a counter for Garnacho and Rashford up top. However I don't think Eriksen has enough defensively for this, so I'd go 5-3-2.

    De Gea
    AWB - Varane - Lindelof - Shaw - Malacia
    Bruno - Casemiro - Fred
    Rashford - Garnacho

I have no real nerves for this as I almost see it as a free hit. City are expected to essentially walk it which gives ETH his team talk, so hopefully they can go out and do ‘em!

Benching Lindelof after his recent performances would be harsh, right? Because Shaw-Varane CB partnership with Dalot/Malacia at LB would perhaps be stronger. We'd lose Shaw's impact from left side though.

For the live of God, stop leaving a huge gap on the right. City will punish us.

It would be extremely harsh. He's done well recently, and while Shaw is a decent deputy at CB he's much better on the left.

Feels like my main takeaway vibes-wise from City v Madrid was that Madrid trying to attack their fullback areas with Benzema as a false 9 and high wingers didn’t work. Madrid looked more in the game when Rodrygo played as a 10.

I feel OK about this... I think we will have more of a game plan than city. I worry about that midfield battle, I would always want to start Bruno-Eriksen-Casimero.. they are by some distance our best midfielders. But I can also see a role for Fred and his energy, so I'm not too worried about that. This is a great game for Manchester United, fantastic.

City will be far more nervous about this game than we will.

I actually see us beating them, deservedly. I v much look forward to watching Garnacho at Wembley (at some point, as I wouldn't start him as he may tire..), and don't discount SMT to have an important role. Just feel we'll be more than just ok today.

I can't remember being this excited for an FA cup final since '99. We're underdogs but not massive underdogs, it's not as though we're some Championship team that's fluked our way to being here.

I know a lot has been said about our away form but I think we'll have enough fans to make it feel more like Old Trafford than a typical away game, and I expect us to be in much louder voice than the City fans.

Put a shift in and at least try to keep it respectable. Leave the stadium with dignity, that's all I dare ask for.

We used to have a "is it not kick of time yet or something thread"

Those fergie days used to look forward to the big games. Not sure if I am looking forward to this one.

Everything needs to go our way. Players have to be on good form, full concentration. No referee mistakes screwing us over. Score within the 2 big chances we might get and defend for our lives.

Compared to city who are in the form of their life. Going for the treble, will have 70-80 % of the ball making more chances to score.

Sucks to be pessimistic. Just trust eth's plan. Not sure if the players have it in them to fulfill it. Fred, Eriksen, Lindeloff, Sancho if playing need to play really well and cannot start the game by giving the ball away.

Our players just need to hang in there and not give up if things don't initially go our way. We can do this. Just be ready to suffer. The reward is worth it.

City should be forced not to play any of the players they’ve signed by cheating

50-0 United in a fair world

This game just feels huge. Bigger than any game I can remember in a long long time. Biggest game since our last CL final ? .... certainly feels it

Reminds me of the semi final where Toure scored for them to go on and win the cup. That was the day the momentum shifted from us to them, today feels kind of the same. We win and the power struggle starts to swing back our way.

Anyone think Fred will be asked to do a Park Ji Sung number on Haaland. And is he up to it ?
