Pope touch and go to make the game for them

    ------------------------Henderson-----------------
    AWB--------Lindelof---------Maguire----Shaw---
    ----------------Fred-----------------McT-----------------
    Rashford---------Bruno-------------Pogba------
    --------------------------Cavani-------------------

Continue with Pogba on the left and keep the link up with Cavani going. Okay with either Rashford / Greenwood on the right if Rashford needs that additional rest but want the Fred McT midfield.

Ideally Maguire shouldn't play as we can't afford for him to get carded but I really don't fancy Lindelof and Bailly against Woods and Vydra or Barnes.

    If I was manager:

    -------------------------------Henderson-------------------------
    AWB--------------Lindelof--------------Maguire-------------Shaw
    -----------------------Mctom--------------Fred------------------------
    Greenwood-------------------Bruno---------------------Pogba
    ------------------------------------Cavani------------------------------

Subs - De Gea, Rashford, James, Amad, Axel, Telles, Matic, DVB, Williams

The only question marks for me are if Maguire and Rashford start but I'd let Rashfords injury fully heal and take a slight risk with Maguire.

I don't understand. Is he one card away from a suspension?

Play an attacking game with a high intensity. No need to rest anyone. The free week after this game will help with that. McT over Fred to counter Burnley’s physicality, and it’s not like he’s a worse player too.

    Henderson
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    McT Pogba
    Mason Bruno Rashford
    Cavani

Time to finally beat Burnley at OT. 2-0 United.

Looks about right but if Pogba plays CM I think it might be Fred ahead of McT.

I’d certainly take 2-0 but think we could get more. Feels like we’ve a few goals backing up that have to come out soon.

I have enough faith in Harry not to get himself booked, Burnley arn't the most Intricate side, nor have the best dribblers besides LW McNeil. He will be vital for their set pieces and long balls.

Edit. Getting through this game without the need of Rashford would do him wonders with and extra week of recovery coming up before the run in.

    This is quite shocking

    All-Time League Record

    Manchester United wins: 54
    Burnley wins: 41
    Draws: 20
Those are VERY similar statistics to Manchester United vs Liverpool

Sheffield United vibes with this one. They're a tough team to break down when they're on it.

Pogba as false winger (if that’s even a thing) with Fred and mctominay In midfield is a must especially due to Burnleys height and presence he can help us win long balls

This is the lineup I’d go with. Pogab on the left. More rest for Rashford. 2 or 3- 0 to us hopefully with Pogba Bruno Greenwood and Cavani running amok. I like the balance having 2 creatives and 2 goal scorers.

Agreed, we have looked so dangerous going forward the last couple of games and getting Rashford that extra recovery will become vital going into the European games and Liverpool. With Scott, Maguire, Pogba and Cavani, we should have enough to deal with their set pieces.

VdB and Mata both getting a start in the same game with Rashford, Pogba + Greenwood all rested? I'd be surprised.

Me too, although Pogba is in my team. Rashford may be rested though, and I fancy Mata to feed Cavani and Pogba in the box.

There's no Scott McTominay listed in the MEN squad for the game...

    Manchester United squad vs Burnley:

    Goalkeepers:
David de Gea, Dean Henderson, Lee Grant.

Defenders: Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Axel Tuanzebe, Alex Telles

Midfielders: Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Donny van de Beek, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic.

Forwards: Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford, Amad, Mason Greenwood, Daniel James.

... Is that an oversight or is there any suggestion of an injury? I can't see anything reported anywhere. They mention Bailly being unavailable, but no reference to McTominay. Hopefully he just wasn't spotted by the journalists or something? As we could do with his height v Dyche's Burnley.

No McTominay is disappointing. Pogba has been really good out on the left lately, and it’d mean we can continue to rest Rashford.

I agree with the general sentiment of others that we should continue to rest Rashford if possible. He can be on the bench for emergencies, but Pogba on the left has worked well recently and I see no reason why it can't continue.

Really hope VDB gets a run; I doubt he'll start, but if the game is going well, we should bring off Bruno early.

We haven't won against Burnley in last 4 home games. 3 draws and 1 loss.

2 of the draws were from 2-0 down to 2-2.
