The one piece of sense the club has shown this window. Fair play

EDIT: nvm. I actually read the statement.

Correct decision. Be interesting to see where he ends up. My bet is Italy

The correct decision albeit it took too long.

As ETH and the club was planning on keeping him by all reports it's imperative we buy another attacker.

Time to move on from this entire thing.

Hopefully for his girlfriends and childs sake he has learnt from this.

Does it mean permanently or on a loan? Not very clear in all honesty

Probably purposely left open ended. Gives them chance to take even longer to make a final decision if they want to send him out on loan.

Most sensible move the club has made in a while, the tragic bit is that it came after the shit storm that fell on the club after the athletic story.

Does it actually say they're terminating his contract?

Still feels like he might just be going off on loan somewhere with European football so he can build some credibilty.

"Based on the evidence available to us, we have concluded that the material posted online did not provide a full picture and that Mason did not commit the offences in respect of which he was originally charged"

Not sure this bit was necessary, but they came to the right decision overall in the end.

Another distraction put to bed finally.

No surprise based on how things were trending. Cancel culture rules and wins again.

Saudi would be a good shout.

the right decision all around. He would have never lived it down here, would have been awful.

It’s pretty clear
Whether it’s a loan now transfer later
Or transfer now
Or terminate contract
Which ever it is he won’t be playing for us again

he’s an absolute idiot

Best possible outcome and next I hope we make a significant contribution to some domestic violence victims programs.

"Although we have decided that Mason will seek to rebuild his career away from Manchester United, that does not signal the end of this matter".

Part of the open letter to fans received by e-mail.

Club has seen sense, thankfully. Hopefully everyone can now move on, and hopefully he can work on being a better person as well. We don't know the full story and never will, but there should always be room for rehabilitation in this world. This is the right decision, but I don't necessarily think he should be done as a footballer all together. Let's all move on now.

Good riddance.

It's shameful that they were even considering bringing him back in to the team.
