Definitely one of our most improved players last year, he started to slip a little earlier on, but seems to be on the verge of becoming a class player again. When I see the back four I am not as apprehensive as I used to be.

Irwin has already said he'll probably move on at the end of this season. But as for Silvestre playing well against West Ham, maybe offensively he did but he wasn't particularly good defensively. He's improved this year, but not enough, and I expect him to be replaced in the summer - he would've been last summer if we'd got Lizarazu.

Neil is rite there ... If you don mention WestHam game then I agree ... this chap is much settle down nowadays ... think the important point is he's very much concentrate in improving his left back position now instead of shifting inwards now and thne ...

The WestHam gam ... mmmm... first he let Lomas out-jump him ... 2nd he let opponent drive crazy down our left and then cross in for Kanoute ... The last goal although it come from the left too but well ok - it's not his fault at all ..

I'm more nervous when Denis starts these days, Silvestre has been excellent and his speed means that nobody is likely to give him a roasting. Still strays a bit too much for my liking but he's turned into a good buy imo.
