Interesting news from the Beeb today.

I wonder how that would work from a legal point of view, but certainly seems like a death knell for any meaningful ESL should one come to pass.

Raft of other responsibilities too, which seem sensible and reasonably well thought out.

Agreed, I'd meant to say "most of which......"

The parachute payments is a difficult one too. The disparity between the Prem and Championship will only get wider if they remove, while the disparity in the Championship is only getting wider as a result of them. One thing to keep in mind for the Championship though is that a lot of well ran teams are competing at the top end, without parachute payments and without sugar daddies.

It only mentions closed competitions so if the ESL came back with relegation and promotion, presumably it would be fine in terms of this

Nothing really radical here.

The "super" league was just a worse replacement for the CL.

The CL itself is dieing as an entertainment product. Just look at the recent rounds of games. 1 decent one. Far too many rubbish group games too.

Football has become too scientific, too unbalanced between the haves and the have nots and it's damaging the spectacle.
