No sports team can win anything if there is no accountability. No business for that matter survives without accountability. We are fecked and it starts from the very top.

Woodward doing a shit job but praised for doing a great job. The same for Ole and the same for the players. How many shocking performances have we seen from a player only to see them keep starting. The no good replacement argument doesn't wash when you have literally the most stacked bench in world football.

Until there is accountability, there will be no progress.

We applaud our manager after one of the most humiliating results in our history (or maybe last 60-70 years) so we hardly hold anyone accountable as fans.

Don't ask questions, that's toxic and being a bad supporter! Just enjoy the loss and get excited for the next loss :)

Loudest boos ever heard at OT. Quarter of the stadium left at half time and more than half before full time. That's a form of accountability. Nothing like empty seats to tickle the money men.

There won't be many empty seats for the game vs City.

This is a very interesting thread and I’ve been thinking about it for weeks. This problem is here from top to bottom like y said.

From Ole insisting on starting bad-performing players no matter how bad they play (Fred, McTominay, Maguire etc…). To Ole himself being kept on for so long. To Woodward staying after many shambolic summers.

Look at the wages we dish out. Ole is on 7.5m a year for a nothing CV and winning nothing. We have players on a fortune and more than others who are regularly winning trophies elsewhere, and other players get dished out renewed contracts because they're mates with the manager.

We reward mediocrity, nobody has to prove themselves.

People often say we don't want to become like Chelsea not realizing that the key to their success is accountability. Your target is x , if you don't achieve it then goodbye. Doesn't matter if you're Lampard or Ancelloti. Being ruthless was a key trait of Fergie. We saw it time after time with Becks, Ruud, Stam etc. Set clear targets for the manager and get rid if he doesn't achieve them barring extraordinary circumstances.

Exactly this. We create the image that they are "The boss" , "The captain" while disregarding the reality that they are failing to meet basic expectations.

Its got to a point where I cannot get excited for football games anymore. Its become more, I hope we don't get embarrassed.

The result has been coming, from the first day of the season, like I have said we have been outplayed almost every team we have played so far this season.

Not 1 game this season I have thought, wow that was a great team performance.
