Nordic Ghost Yeti (Scandi Carroll) | Haaland at City

He gave his £1K MOTM award vs Sweden to Amnesty. Please, we need someone to quickly call him a hypocrite.

When Ronaldo Nazario arrived(pre injuries) he looked like someone coming from the future Now we see many players, not exactly with his skill set, but with his power and accelaration. I wonder if Haaland is a prototype of the type of players we'll see 10 years in the future.
Haaland is basically a Vieri regen. His type existed when ronaldo was around too.

Awkward that the noggies on here have to support City now!
There will be a lot of "Respect Human Rights" t-shirts and United kits stacked away in Norwegian homes after this summer.

I think it is ok to respect and follow players at rival clubs though, just like it's been fun to follow players like Messi, Ronaldo and other greats through the year even though you really dislike their clubs. I guess Haaland already is the best ever Norwegian footballer, so it'll be hard for Noggies not to follow him, even though they hate his new club and have huge issues with who is paying his wages.

Only thing he has in common with Vieri is that they're both very strong and good in the oppo box. Everything else is very different. Haaland is twice as fast and a much more prolific goalscorer, and his type is new: the super fast, super strong, superb finisher combo with elite movement type. Never been seen this extreme before, no one has been close really.
When Vieri turned 22 he had 25 Serie B goals, 1 cup goal and 1 serie A goal in his career and didn't really break through before he was 24 and had that great season at Atletico Madrid. Haaland at 21 is 3 goals behind Vieri's career goals for their national teams and has scored 23 goals in 17 games in the CL (2 less than Viery had scored in 79 games in Serie B at that point in his career). Really not comparable at all.

Agree. Haaland is built like Lukaku, moves like Cavani and shoots like Van Persie. He’s like a robot.

It's odd because he's an exciting player that I'm looking forward to watching in this league, but I'm also dreading it because if it clicks with him, it's kinda game over before the league even starts.

No one player will fix all the problems we have.

If we were competing for the title this would be a blow. As is it we're nowhere near so it doesn't actually affect us in any way, other than the two games we'll play against them.

I don't think we'll be able to take advantage next season but I don't think he will mesh with the team as good as people think and I can see a similar situation to United and RVN (very good indivually but the team isn't as frightening as before).

It goes under the radar a bit but despite his personal records in Germany Dortmund didn't get any closer to snatching the title from Bayern and lost every head to head he played vs them (surely if he's that good he'd make City even more untouchable he'd have dragged Dortmund into a title race at the very least?).

This transfer has brought almost zero attention in the larger scheme of things. It has done nothing for his personal brand. I'm surprised. It's like De Bruyne, he's one of the greatest players in the history of football, but he can't be placed on the same level as someone who has played for Liverpool, United or Arsenal. Even Chelsea.

With time maybe things will change.

The only thing a player needs to sell is what they do on the pitch. The idea of a players being brands is irrelevant. Football is a sport, the most important success is on the pitch. I’d rather a player focus on being the becoming the best player they have the ability to become than spending time building up their social media follows so they can shill products for sponsorship.

I'll have what this guy's smoking.

I wish King Grealish II all the best in his reign of the UK.

He will do his job great at City. I think he will score probably over 40+ goals in overall competitions, if he doesn’t have injuries.

Protested the World Cup in Qatar, signs for City. Sorry state of football right now.

One day Pep will have spent enough to win the CL, surely it’s 22/23 now Haaland has arrived.
