How can you watch players like Šeško or Vlahovic and still think Haaland is special or generational? The hysteria and hype around Haaland will cool down when people catch up.
Nobody comes close to Haaland when it comes to scoring.
Mbappe and Vlahovic are more talented than Haaland when it comes to passing and dribbling, but Haaland is one tier above the rest in front of goal.
Messi and Ronaldo were the only players in history (? - atleast recent memory) who were able to get close to 50 a season in the league.
Much more likely is that he regresses a little and still manages to score "only" 35 or so.

Of course he won’t. Even with his abilities he still doesnt have a 50 goal season to his name never mind having multiple seasons over a decade.

Lewandowski's 41 goal season was at that level, albeit in an 18 team league (he played only 29 games).
A truly exceptional goalscorer can do it nowadays, and I think it's clear Haaland has it in him. But everything must work out for an entire season, fitness first of all. So yeah, less likely to happen than not to, but certainly possible.
City have scored 23 PL goals this season, Haaland has 11 of them which means that City's other players have outscored him with 12 goals. For reference United have scored 8 goals so far in the PL.
I think it's wishful thinking to believe that City would struggle without Haalands goals. He looks like the icing on the cake to me.

Yeah City have made the best goalscoring start to a season I can remember. City getting a clinical forward like him was always a terrifying prospect considering the amount they scored without even a striker for the last 2 seasons.
It's an impossible poison to pick as a rival - do you try and stop him, and leave the others open? Or get torn apart by him if you leave him alone against your CBs.
Well yes. It doesn't follow from goalscoring stats that he must somehow be doing lots more than goalhanging. He's patently not.
I think the only thing that can keep him from 40 goals in the league is a lengthy injury spell.
He is such a unit, he will miss games due to injuries because he just plays like that and is built like a brick shithouse but he will score you loads and loads of goals.
Don´t like him much but sadly he is a top top talent that we didn´t manage to sign even though Ole almost gave us the player when he played for Molde.

Even though Haaland is a great goal scorer and probably close to being the best out n out striker in the world. I find it hard to see him as the “best player in the world” at any point. I don’t know if it’s because we’ve been spoilt by Messi and Ronaldo who did a lot more than just score goals.
For some reason it feels like Mbappe and Haaland competing to be the best player in the world will always lean towards Mbappe because of his all round game.

If you really think he’s comparable to Inzaghi, maybe you didn’t watch Inzaghi play then? Haaland doesn’t assist a lot, but he does do it, and there have been a few beauties. He’s a smart player, and can do most things required in and around the box.
Look, Inzaghi was a top player. I am not comparing him to a donkey. And Haaland is clearly better at goalhanging than Inzaghi was. But their basic game is roughly the same.

In some ways yes, but there are big differences. Haaland is a model athlete, tall, fast and powerful, while Gerd Müller was once called "small chubby Müller" by his coach, so a totally different type of player physically.
But they are similar in their instinct to just get into goalscoring positions.
It's weird checking a score of a match he was involved in and seeing that his team lost. He obviously scored :/

One thing that strikes me is how well Halaand seems to have sled right in their group dynamics. He celebrates goals of his City teammates like mad and seems to really enjoy the stuff that they do for the cameras (i.e some City players checking the new Fifa 2023 ratings together...)

It was the same in Dortmund. Was especially obvious when he was injured and had to watch the matches from the stands. Reacted as emotional as any fan there. He just wants his teams to win, regardless how big his individual involvement is.

Yeah! I remember the summer Pippo turned 22 when he finally made his move to a Serie A club and just exploded into the scene with 2 goals that season (4 in all comps). It was just like watching Haaland now…..monsters
Most professional footballers can do most things around the box. But he's clearly an out and out poacher but an exceptional one. I'm not sure why people want to pretend he's a great footballer in his general play. The player himself said he dreams of scoring 5 goals with 5 touches in a game.
His game apart from scoring isn’t half bad either and he is so young you just know it will improve tenfold especially surrounded by the quality players surrounding him at city.
Name a player whose all round play has improved "ten fold". He's been the same as before in this regard this season - but scoring more goals. It's more a case of letting City players do what they do brilliantly i.e create chances for absolute fun and ensuring he puts away one or two in the box. Rather than suddenly arriving in the same galaxy as a Henry or Suarez in terms of his buildup play.
I actually think it's good that he knows what he excels at and focuses on that rather than over indulging and wanting to be something he's not. People do take the poacher thing as a huge insult as if it's terrible to classify him as such.
I saw him react to a pass by KDB for Bernado's goal, and I just thought "what an awesome guy". He has no ego. That's why he can focus as well as he does

If we are only talking about leagues goals, I agree that I don't see Haaland scoring 50 in a league season (but then again the only man to do it was Messi in 2011-12).
In all competitions Luis Suarez scored 59 goals in the 2015-16 season while having double digit assists. Lewandowski scored 55 goals in a season and 69 in a calendar year (only Messi's 91 tops that). Ibrahimovic has also scored 50 goals.
Lewandowski scored 40 goals in the Bundesliga which only has 34 matches in a season, making it much more difficult to top the marks that others reach at different leagues.
