Hopefully Edouard is smart enough to stay away from that slimy bastard Rodgers.

He should be the player we’re looking at to replace Lukaku.

I'd actually expect Lyon to buy him to replace Dembele when he moves this summer. Would be very smart.
Yup, that wouldn't surprise me in the slightest and he would like do similar to Dembele and clubs around Europe would be paying about double in 2-3 years time what Edourad will be available for in the summer.

He's the best forward in the Scottish Premiership. Maybe doesn't get as many goals as Morelos for example, but his all round play is far superior.

I would think he will be available for £25-£30 million based on what Arsenal paid for Tierney.

PSG could be an option, they need a back up for Icardi and he may want to come back to his childhood club.

I guess it will be 25-40 million, as attackers have been always more expensive than fullbacks

Edouard would be a smart option. I would like Werner but it will be difficult to get Werner or Sancho as we may not make top 4.

I must say, whenever I do watch Morelos I think he looks bang average (not often admittedly...

Absolutely sensational tonight. I have it on good authority that he is expected to join Leicester in the summer for less than Tierney went to arsenal for, but I’m hoping things change and we try and get in his ear. Has the potential to be a star, no doubt about it.

This season he’s got to the level Van Dijk did here. Annoyingly too good, and he’ll move on. He’s a better player than Dembele.

There's absolutely no way we're selling him for less than Tierney went for. Especially with his form since the new year.

I'd also doubt we'd do business with the rat either purely for the fact that fans will definitely revolt. Hell, the club's twitter account wished him a happy birthday last week and it was bedlam

Its a good club for young up and comers because they get to play for a huge, renowned name in front of consistently big crowds but without the huge pressure that comes with PL teams and against poor competition - this can go both ways because for a young forward, for example, it's a real confidence builder to be smashing goals in and developing quickly. But obviously, the downside being no real test.

Well worth a punt. Not seen too much of him myself but my two lads are Celtic mad and they rave about him.

Not a chance mate. Tierney has a bad injury record pre and post transfer, plus only one club came in for him and he's a full back. Strikers always have a premium. Edouard will have clubs interested in the uk and europe. He put in a man of the match performance in Italy v Lazio ,stuff like that raises profiles quickly. He came through the ranks at PSG, very successful at underage level with French national side, only 22.There's only so much realistically a club like Celtic can hold out for, but they could easily get 35 to 40 million in today's market. I have no doubt wee Brendan is looking at him, be interesting to see if he picks him over Dembele from Lyon.

If he gets a full cap for France the fee might go up. But you can’t expect 40m for a player with zero full international appearances.

what is Dembele's price at Lyon being touted to be, 50 mill with no shortage of potential takers, same deal no caps. France is top team in world football so having no caps for a player who literally just turned 22 is no big deal. I'd say most clubs would shell 35 to 40 million on the knowledge that once he is upgraded to full squad his price will rise. His u21 form is 11 goals in 6 games.
aren't we linked with a summer move for Grealish for big money, he's no caps for a country not as good as France's.

I have a Celtic fan who says he’s the best since Larsson (better than Samaras?!). The likes of Sancho, Haaland eluded us, but there’s talent out there. Edouard looks good.

Its the Scottish league effect. It'll usually cost more to buy lyons star striker than celtics, and its a vastly superior league. and with regards Grealish, there's a premium to pay because hes young, english and PL proven. There is no premium on SPL footballers unfortunately.

That being said, I first heard about the arrangement with Leicester a few months back, so if his performances continue i'm sure the price will go up. Part of the rumour was that some Leicester players would start going to Celtic on loan, as their academy is getting a bit stronger, and as much as the fans don't like Rodgers, The board don't really have any problems forming a friendship with them especially considering Neil Lennon being one of their top players of the 90s.

He probably is. I think he's better than dembele. If you can, watch his movement before his first goal, when he runs towards the goal. He's so direct and deceptively quick, and then his close control means defenders are all over the place trying to stop him.

There will be plenty of talent available, we should be proactive in the market and make good calls.

I think we should be taking the punt on Eddie. My dad and brother are Celtic daft and living in Glasgow I get to see plenty of him, I can't help but be impressed as he looks an excellent talent. I would be chuffed to bits to see us take a chance on him. For what it's worth, he is brilliant in Europe for Celtic too.

SPL isn't considered a fashionable league and there isn't a premuim for SPL players, but there is for strikers in any league. Is a team in the french league sitting in 6th really that much better.I think scouts for the big teams have a more balanced approach in their outlook. Hottest young striker in europe just left the austrian league. We've just splashed out big money on a player from a team not challenging for the Portuguese league, which isn't a top league either. Even Grealish last season was playing in championship. Clubs now want players who are young, hungry with potential high upgrades. 35 to 40 million for a striker banging them in for club domestically, in europe and also at u21 level for France. That's asking 10-15 million more for a left back that is injury prone and only had 1 team in for him. The fee I am quoting is not unrealistic in today's market. 35-40 million few yrs ago was huge money but with the riches in the pl, we see teams like Newcastle pay 40 mill for Joelinton, who played most of his football in recent seasons in Austria.Edouard was good last season as well at Celtic when on loan but this season he has really kicked on. Clubs will be tracking this, I've no doubt 35 to 40 will be paid for him.

I doubt Celtic could turn down £25m to be honest. The most significant factor is turnover and that’s still a massive fee in Scotland.

There’s no doubt they did well to get that for Tierney but the hype was massive, possibly due to how well Andy Robertson had done. Tierney is also a massive Celtic fan and was absolutely determined not to leave until 10 in-a-row was settled.

This was an Arsenal who paid in excess of £70m for Pepe don’t forget. So they took the bait and went in big for the player. I don’t think you can just say well they got that so a striker will cost more.

He's another in the van Dijk, Dembele, Wanyama mould that is clearly a class above our league and is destined to go on to bigger and better things. I get there's always a reluctance to properly rate players in Scotland because the quality of the league isn't the greatest but this guy is the real deal.

So is there any links to him from us other than from the beginning of January?

Is he someone we're reported to have scouted numerous times?

goalscorers traditonally cost more, certainly more than injured full backs. 25 mill is massive for Scotland and it well may be a starting point in transfer talks, but in my opinion they will get certainly 10 mill more perhaps 15. As I said in previous post a lot of clubs in the Pl can afford that cost, not just the big guns, plus he'll have admirers in europe as well. His potential is frightening, pace, power, link up play, set pieces. Tierney was injured and had 1 club in for him, that won't be the case with Edouard. Obviously the market will dictate what he is worth but in Jan alone we heard interest from clubs such as Napoli and Monaco. The other big attraction re Edouard will be his wages, I'd guess now he's probably on somewhere around 20k per week.He will get a massive pay rise no matter where he goes, so I'd imagine his management team won't be asking for silly wages considering his current pay.

He’s on closer to 30k, with pretty nice bonuses, but wherever he goes he will probably at least double it. Also, arsenal weren’t the only club in for tierney by a long shot, just the only ones with a realistic chance. Everton were interested years ago.

Re Tierney, Arsenal only club in for him last summer. He's a terrific player when fit but a lot of the clubs who were looking at him didn't pursue it, and they have maybe been proved justified with Tierney missing a ton of games this season through injury. Re Edouard's wages, I'm not sure exactly what he's on, I know there was talk back in Sept of Celtic offering him a new improved contract at 30k, but that was never signed,so he's still on his original contract. Even if it were 30k, still peanuts in todays market. You could double or treble that and it still wouldn't be a massive wage for a big club. To put in it perspective, Newcastle hardly known as big spender,s pay Almiron from mls over 40k per week. I'd say Joelinton would be on probably 70-80 k per week

Half the guys I work with are Celtic fans and they think he is the best thing to happen to the club for decades - he is banging the goals in for them, looks class, and is going to make the club a very tidy profit as the fans know he will be sold in the summer.
On the times I've watched Celtic he always seems to be the best player on the pitch, and he gets some real treatment from opposition defenders so managers know how much of a threat he carries. He would walk into to most PL sides below City.
If we are going to do a re-build without going 'big-big' on player purchases then this guy has to be the answer to our forward line.
