Football has changed and evolved so much, a team like todays Burnley would destroy the England 1966 side.

Where do you think England 1966 will finish in today's league?

1) Quality of opposition was higher than today. Beckenbauer, Seeler, Overath, Schnellinger... Lots of world class players and they still did well.

2) Moore, Stiles and Charlton will walk I to any PL side today.

3) Cohen, Peters and Ball are good choices for a PL side too.

With all the major increases in training methods, sports science, physiotherapy, scouting, travel, etc it only makes sense that the players are getting worse over time.
