RvP's comments were completely fair. Can't see Ole changing though.
Is it though? He has showed he will ship out anyone not suited for the task. But because he dosent put up a mean face, the players is not afraid of him?

Do you want to make that a bet?
Easy money for you.
I'd make a bet he's here still in 2021 too.

But from experience you can't make bets with people online, they won't pay up when they lose.

What was, "Robin took my number 20, that's all he's taking from me." about? Any takers?
Maybe he's assuming that Van Persie wants to usurp him. Or he's downplaying Van Persies accolades during his spell at Utd in comparison to what he had achieved here.

I thought it was great to see him stand his ground there. People forget that he's got a bit of needle about him, Ole. Remember the "couldn't care less" about Liverpool? Or how about that red card against Newcastle? You couldn't be successful in the squads he played in without having a bit of arrogance and balls about you - Roy Keane has even said that Ole's not the chirpy kid he appears to be.

What does he mean by the medieval times comment as he's walking away? I can't work it out.
I think he means that football has changed, it's not all about shouting and throwing tantrums. Jesus, surely after Mourinho's stint we can all see that? Look at how Mou is already behaving at Spurs. His is a management style of the past, Ole is trying to be different. It's not always working, but personally I blame the squad he's inherited for that and the people making decisions for 6 years on player and staff transfers.

It's a shame it's not going a little better, but I genuinely believe Ole is the right man for the job right now. And the potential reward of having a legend like Ole being successful at our club is worth the risk of it not. I am flabbergasted that people don't see this. A hundred trophies with Mourinho would've still left a salty taste in my mouth, but as it turned out, his medieval, archaic approach to football didn't bring much success either, certainly not anything that makes it look like a mistake we binned him. Give Ole some creative players and some attacking full-backs in January and I'm absolutely certain he can make top 4 and challenge for some trophies. If he's anywhere close, I'd give him another season after this with more reinforcement in the summer.

I wonder sometimes what people actually want from supporting football. I want to feel like I belong within a club's spirit, like I have a connection to the people in it. From Bobby to Alex and now to Ole. That's the spirit that Klopp has brought back to Liverpool and that's what we should bring back to United. Even if Ole's success doesn't match Klopp's, I'll still celebrate a goal scored by Ole's united with more honest passion than I would Mourinho's. And I feel more visceral pain when we lose as well, because I actually care about the guy. I couldn't give a shit about Mou.

I honestly think if we'd have been half as successful as we were under Fergie I'd still have loved every minute, because it felt like it meant something. Imagine if Fergie had left in 2001 and we'd have had Eriksson followed by Capello and whoever else. Who knows, we might have won a couple more European cups. But I wouldn't swap the joy of Fergie rebuilding the squad, fighting back, losing with the last kick to City then getting it back for anything. That's what football is for - tribal, sincere, brutal passion. And we stand a chance of getting it back if we keep faith with Ole. Even if that chance is slim, I'd rather thrown all my money behind him than continues with a carousel of soulless football journeymen out to fleece the club for some notoriety and a modicum of success.

Not much giving us confidence what he says. I like some more agression He should rally us saying we are very upset about last defeat and that we want to take full revenge on Wolves with full motivation. Talk about big games to come now and it is a time we step up and fight as a team as we have done in other big games.

Also that we are looking to improve the team in any way possible regarding transfers.

Jones can play in midfield too Ole.

Also it's funny how he takes a pop at RVP because of his fair comment but he's too fecking scared to take a pop at Raiola despite him constantly taking a shit on our club.
He must not have watched when that did happen. If he is calling Mensah a midfield option then Lingard, Jones, Lindelöf and Maguire would also be options in theory at least for certain roles.

His job. If spreading fear in a group is what it takes to make players perform, I worry for the position of modern managers like Klopp and Guardiola.

Raiola can still hurt us monetarily, RVP can't.

Ole calling it his Management style is interesting. I think he might have a point too.

He’s made a judgement call that this squad is young and inexperienced and he needs to keep the pressure off them, him smiling after the Arsenal game isn’t because he doesn’t give a feck about losing, he’s just putting up a facade to keep spirits from falling into oblivion around the club.

He’s looking after a young, inexperienced team and that’s the task he’s been given. He feels that the last thing they need is for the whole club to be consumed by losing a game.
Agree.
Like I said.. Club is a complete joke

The club is only going to change once the owners and Ed bugger off.

Dont expect any permanent transfer in January.

Did TFM ever play central midfield for the first team? I only remember him at RB and CB, where he was generally decent, but that was a long time ago.

According to Transfermarkt, he only played RB and CB for our first team, Crystal Palace and Fulham.

Well, I must be the exception then, cause last time I lost a bet on a football forum, I actually paid ;)

It’s like he said that as a direct response to accusations of being too nice.

Someone should accuse him of not winning enough games.

We have loads of pathetic fans nowadays. Looking at the comments in here and on Twitter, I swear a lot of those people share a single brain cell between them.

Ole did put Raiola in his place, but it's tough to get informed well when you can barely read or comprehend properly.

Transfermarkt lists DM and DC as other positions, while RB is his main position.
Wikipedia: "Evans Timothy Fosu Fosu-Mensah (born 2 January 1998) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder, centre-back or full-back ".

With Bailly and Tuanzebe soon to return, Fosu´s best chance to get into the team this season, is probable as a DM.

Please do not put daft ideas in Ole's head like that when we simply have to buy two midfielders in this January window or creatively we will be offering next to nothing whilst Pogba is out. RVP was within his rights to say what he said about Ole, after all he was just giving an honest opinion on his management style. Personally I don't agree with people who say it has been blown out of proportion because it didn't sit well with me when he is smiling on camera after we have just lost an important league game.

Said in another thread, I'm pretty sure he came on as a sub and played in midfield in the 3-2 game against Arsenal which LVG won with a very young team. After that I think people were raving about him being a potential midfielder.

Transfermarkt includes appearances for the reserves in that tally though. The only listed CM appearance for the first team is a couple of minutes for us vs Norwich, and 12 minutes vs Reading in the League Cup.

It'd be great of he turned into some sort of all-action Essien-like midfielder, due to our depseration for one, but his track record as a midfielder is practically non-existent.

What's he on about talking that way about RVP? He didn't slaughter him in the post game analysis or anything. Just said his opinion. Does he expect everyone to say positive things about him in studios? Grow up, Ole, and take criticism well.

Honestly shocking quotes. Could not believe it while reading.

Yep, no way he is our manager next season and rightly so.
My fear is that he will be. I hate the guy (literally) but i give him something; he can sell a story. His PR stuff is amazing. And he is doing it on daily basis how he is building for future, bumps on the road and shit like that. Fans believe in that and the most important thing, Ed is buying that.
So prepare yourself for summer transfers. 150 mil for Longstaff, Rice and some dude from Barnsley or something like that.

I think people are mad to think Ole is happy with the squad he's got at his disposal, especially in midfield.

But he,like his predecessors, has likely been sold down the river.

I think the only way we're going to be successful again under the Glazers and Ed is by relying on,like they relied on SAF,a genius manager.
A manager that could get blood out of a stone.

Edit: And when I say successful I dont mean top 4. I mean competing for the 2 main prizes.

I honestly have no idea why, when asked about midfield options, the first name he thinks of is the returning Fosu-Mensah, and not Garner. Are we to believe that he would much prefer the non-central midfield player with very average ball-playing abilities over and above a midfield specialist with the necessary abilities to thrive?

Pressure starting to get him. He's upset by what RVP said because RVP is an ex-player and what he said is true.

I agree. I've not completely written off Fosu-Mensah, but his attributes appear to be physical from what I have seen so far (speed, strength, good tackler, akin to AWB), and I think he'd make a reasonable auxiliary right back and/or centre back. I am also unsure about Garner so far, but he certainly has more attributes suited to a central midfielder.

Well said pal, this guy is doing a dirty job but keeps on smiling.

I’d rather him in the position we are in then any fancy named manager who only cares about himself.
