Martial is bad but this guy. Wouldn't want to be anywhere near this guy.Unuited should be in for him, top talent and only 25 y/o. Free transfer is a no-brainer. We can use other funds for other areas of the pitch like DM, CM, CB etc
If it's a choice between this guy on a free (and probably 15-20m signing fee) or Antony for 50-60m, I'd take Dembelé. Yes he's had injuries but there's no doubting his quality. Antony is a huge gamble in my opinion.
so Dembele wants to stay with Barcelona, but also wants to squeeze as much as he can for salary, and in the mean time keep his option open. Chelsea also knows this and will wait for the outcome before make their move.
Kudo to Chelsea for not giving in to player's outrageous wage demand even it is a free transfer. In the end it will back fire every club if this trend continues.I think he and his representatives have realised he’s not getting the money he’s was supposedly asking for before. He can probably get more than the €6m euros net Barca are offering at Chelsea, but he won’t get astronomical wages at Chelsea either. It sounds like we’re on standby waiting to see what he decides about his Barca offer.
Great player, so much ability but we need to about the bigger picture, the team and I'm not sure he would buy in and accept that it's about the team, he's very much about him from what I know of him and I think will cost a huge salary etc so not one I'd go for.
Nah, Dembélé isn't about himself, as a player he is very much of a team player.
I've watched near 90% Barca games since Xavi took over and Dembele has genuinely been world class in those games, his decision making has improved so much, he has cut out the unnecessary dribbling and stepovers, he still has the burst of pace to beat defenders and he's making good decisions in dangerous areas, I'm actually surprised he hasn't accepted Barca's offer as this is probably the best he's played for a long time in terms of end product.Think it comes down to the players desire, I'm sure Chelsea will offer a better financial package and I can see him doing well under Tuchel. 343 formation and consider Reece James will cover much of the defensive side of the field those circumstances could bring out the best in Dembele though he has had from what I've heard a good season since Xavi has taken over.

Dembele + Sterling would be a pretty substantial upgrade on Werner and Ziyech. Hope this happens.
Chilwell and Sterling on one flank, James and Dembele on the other. That’s tasty. Just wondering how we’d fit Mount into a team with those two.
Has there not been issues of attitude? I think his injuries are concerning too
Really, really hope we switch to a back 4 with those players. Rice at the base of the midfield flanked by Mount and Kovacic with Gallagher and Kante in heavy rotation. Sterling Havertz Dembele up front.
Xavi treats him almost like Messi in his system, he should definitely stay put at Barca.
Also sounds his choice of salary is now down to Barca's 6m euros and whatever Chelsea are willing to give him, which has been reported in the past to be around 8m pounds - so around 116k euros or around 150k pounds a week. Neither of those are astronomical.
So after all the links and Chelsea rumous, Dembele still only has Barca's offer on the table, which he had been refusing to accept. Barca offered new terms today, a lot lower than the original renewal offer. New contract offer is around 6m euros net (116k a week). That is the only offer he has at the moment. Chelsea are either not actually interested in him or have played a blinder here by just waiting to see how the Barca situation unfolds.
The potential he showed at Rennes promised so much, 2 footed, brave, quick, strong, great technique, he was the best young player in Europe at that point I would think, outside of Mbappe. Seems like a better footballing option than Antony if he could stay fit, but is the hunger to be great still there?
Major improvement on Ziyech for Chelsea if he could play 50 games a season.
I would have expected that he has a lot more offers under these conditions. PSG, Bayern, Liverpool could all make good use of him. Potentially a great deal for the club he plays for next season.
As I read the offer is €6M net + 1.5M in variables.
I think Barcelona should have cancelled the offer a long time ago. Mainly for dignity, something that many who run the club do not have, including Xavi.
They all call themselves Cruyffists, but only in word, in deeds they do not prove anything.
Don Johan Cruyff has long since cancelled his offer, anyone who hesitates to play for the club cannot be there for a moment longer.
He's only played the equivalent of 160 games in his whole career so far, playing more than 30 games only once. The only way he could play 50 games is if he only played the last time 5 or 10 minutes in each one.
He's one to avoid at all costs.
Problem then becomes what we do at CB. A 38 year old Thiago Silva in a back 4? I’m not sure.Really, really hope we switch to a back 4 with those players. Rice at the base of the midfield flanked by Mount and Kovacic with Gallagher and Kante in heavy rotation. Sterling Havertz Dembele up front.
I got the feeling that Dembélé would like to stay from the start, and that Xavi knows it and doesn't want to alienate him as he values him.I hear you about the wanting players who actually want to be there thing. If Chelsea had a player who was out of contract and strung the club along for months and months, as a fan I'd probably feel the same as you. I do think the best thing for him is to stay there with Xavi and I think your thoughts about him will change over the coming months, if he does extend.

Most likely, always a bit of dream that the perpetually injured will get over their issues, especially players as explosive as Dembele. Giggs, famously had to change his running style and rarely sprinted full out after 26/27, still quicker than the vast majority but the rocket speed was rarely used.
At 26/27 Giggs also changed his lifestyle and driving habits, he stopped driving new sports cars because the stiffer clutches were causing him problems. So, he bought one car and stuck to it and it helped remove the tendon problems from his knee causing hamstring issues.
I don't know what Dembele does outside of football, but if the reports that he eats junk and stays up late playing video games are true, then you can see why he's so injury prone. He would need to change his whole lifestyle to make sure his body is capable of taking the demands of the game. I'm not sure he has it in him to do that.

In my opinion Bayern's interest depends on what happens with Lewandowski and/or Gnabry.Bayern are talking to his representatives too, from what I've read. PSG were interested, and it actually seemed like it was a done deal to them at one point, until they got a new sporting director who ended the interest.
Dembélé has changed his lifestyle a long time ago and the source of his injuries has been mentioned by Aspetar, it's supposed to be based on Barcelona's training methods which makes sense since his issues aren't different to the ones Alba had and he didn't had injury issues before Barcelona.
