He's bad enough doing the football. The ultimate 'gusher', I can't stand his commentary, and it's simply unlistenable when Arsenal are playing

But he's just rancid on the darts (Grand slam, ITV4)

He literally gets paid to talk absolute bollocks for a living. I grudgingly admire him. But only if I have him on mute...

"He's had a fly, and he's scored a lovely goal. What a lovely, lovely strike of a football. This is a lovely football match."

The commentary during Domino Day on channel 5 was superb...they should promote those fellas to MoTD

I get the impression that he loves the sound of his voice a bit too much.

When Almiron was through on goal "MIGGY ALMIRON". Miggy??

When Nunez scored the winner - "The liver bird soars". feck right off.

He’s the best in the business. Where’s your sense of football romanticism!

‘ROMA HAVE RISEN FROM THEIR RUINS. MANOLAS, THE GREEK GOD IN ROME. THE UNTHINKABLE UNFOLDS BEFORE OUR EYES”

He seems to really polarise opinion. A lot think he’s the best in the business while others think he tries too hard.

I think he's great, a vast improvement on Tyler.

I'm not sure how a match can be deliciously poised, but it's better than the delayed reaction when a goal is scored and the awake snoring of Tyler.

Best in the business when commentating big occasions or late winners for us. Legend.

Worst in the business when doing the same for opponents. cnut.

I watched his best moments chosen by him and most of them were Liverpool.

Despite that I actually think he's alright

He’s a right weirdo but at least he’s not senile

I actually love him. Easily the best commentator around. He Seems to have no favorites.

I Was getting sick of Martin Tyler crying everytime Liverpool conceded a goal.

It's strange to hear the combination with Gary Neville.

I've become so used to the dreary efforts of Martin Tyler and Neville's ooo that Sky Sports no longer feels like Sky Sports.

Big fan of him, great pick up for Sky.

Does have odd fascination with constantly saying players full names when they're about to shoot apart from "Miggy."

He’s a waxing lyrical florid gobbed fanny. They should have got Tyldesley and put McCoist alongside him.

He was great on NBC, I loved the way he set the stage for each clash.

Martin Tyler's commentary over the last few years was awful so yeah Drury is much better than him. Clive Tyldesley is still the best football commentator though and it's a shame he doesn't commentate on PL games for Sky or TNT.

He’s awesome. Some people on caf just like to hate everyone and everything.

Didn't think it would take long to see folks whinge about him. He was the best commentator in the world until people actually had to hear him commentate a full match every week and not just highlights.

He's without a doubt a little bit much, but its a nice change of pace to the ghost of Martin Tyler we've had to deal with for the last what 5-6 years at least.

I miss Peter Brackley on Football Italia and PES. The glory years.

“Manchester united is the most consistent team, one win in August, one win in September, one win in October, one win in November, one win in December, its just like menstrual cycle!!
if they don’t win in January know that they are pregnant”

Coulnd't have put it better myself. He needs to pipe down sometimes instead of always trying to one up his costas manolas greek god bullshit.

It’s way too much every week. People will be over it by the end of the season.

He’s brilliant, infrequently.

Imagine bumping a 14 year old thread with 4 posts, and one of them is by Brad where he DOESN'T call @Wibble a cnut.
