0-1 Patoneso turns De Laet too easily and slots it past Foster. Deserved lead for Villa, United have been very sloppy in possession.
Cheers anyway - I've not given up hope yet, but none of the usual suspects/sites/streams have rendered any results yet... Will share if I find anything.

Diouf played through by Norwood and outpaces the defence, only to shoot straight at their keeper from a narrow angle.
Diouf uses his pace to get behind the Villa defence but the keeper smothers the ball at his feet.
Diouf fires over from a cleverly worked cutback from a freekick near the goaline.
We're playing a lot better now, at least. Villa holding on for half time a bit.
Ball rolled into Diouf by Norwood from a free kick out on the right but Diouf smashes it over. Should have buried that one.
Diouf misses his 3rd chance, after being played through well by Macheda. Good save by the keeper with his feet.

Diouf doesn't miss with his 4th chance. He was played through well again by Macheda and passes it past the keeper in off the far post.
Well at least it sounds like he's getting involved, all of our chances seem to have fallen to Diouf, maybe he just felt scoring all 4 would have been a bit embarrassing.

He still looked quite annoyed with himself after the goal. His finishing does seem to be quite erratic (although none of his misses today have been shockers). Hopefully it's something he can improve by working on it over the summer. He really does stand out at this level so all the jibes levelled at him on this forum since he disappeared through injury seem pretty unfair.

I was hoping somehow that one Diouf goal was worth two... that and I didn't read your post properly and missed where you'd actually given the HT score
I think half of that is because of all that 'the one' bollocks building him up. It's his first game for a while as well so you could expect some rustiness. The only chance he really should have done better with was the cut back from the free kick where he should have at least got it on target.

He's so much better/faster than the Villa defenders, it's a bit silly.
Villa were good for about 25-30 minutes but since United's midfield has started getting on the ball Diouf's just been taking the piss.
To be fair, Diouf has never been a lethal finisher. Still, he is very good at getting himself in the right positions and he always get's a lot of chances, therefore he will score goals. If his finishing was anything like Solskjaer or Nistelrooy, he would be deadly.
Yea, all that 'the one' business did him no favours. Also, that header he messed up in his last first team appearance seemed to be enough evidence for some clowns on here to decide that he's rubbish.
And the refereeing.... from a Premier League referee no less. Are these guys really the best the country has to offer?
