Seeing that an old Pablo Zabaleta gave away a penalty today to cause West Ham a loss, it struck me again how poor their transfer strategy is. The likes of Ayew and Arnautovic are good signings if you're doing your scouting at the watercooler instead of football grounds, they can be good on their day but are they worth it? Are their best days ahead of them? With the likes of them, and past their best players like Hart and Zabaleta, there's something very West Ham about signing them. And maybe Hernandez, even if he's probably going to do well for them. They're the sort of signings Spurs always made until about 2007. Call it one for the Weird Feelings of Football thread, but there are so many players either in the PL right now or formerly of the PL that you can see West Ham bringing in, that wouldn't improve them much at all. So feel free to list here random mishmash signings that West Ham will definitely make in a half-baked effort to get to the next level over the next few years.
For starters, Theo Walcott will almost definitely play for West Ham after he's finally let go by Arsenal. He'll probably be injured all the time.
