I was thinking about the story of Fritz Walter, a German play from the 50s who improved the worse the weather got as he had contracted malaria and couldn't stand the heat. Never watched him so I don't know how much of this is urban legend mind you.

Which other players do better depending on the weather?

Ferguson always spoke about Giggs performing in the rain. It was raining when he subbed him on in Moscow, if I recall correctly.

David Ginola would always play on whichever side of the ground had shade. Or was that just a story that grew legs?

Some South Americans that have played in England, Elano and Geovanni are two that come to mind.

Play well August/September, hibernate for the winter and reappear in April/May with some good performances.

Well, Arsenal-players certainly plays better whenever its not raining, or so i've heard.
