Solid professional performance. We miss Rashford and Martial. Ronaldo is finished, was just terrible today. Otherwise a good performance all round.

We look a much more balanced team with Antony.

Good win, minimal fuss throughout with Casemiro fitting nicely in to the side in the 2nd half. Job done.

Eriksen, Martinez and Malacia all very good. I hope we can get and keep Martial fit because he’s the only one we have who can hold it up a bit.

Run of the mill away win in Europe, seemed to take our foot of the grass second half which I thought was a bit strange since we aren’t playing at the weekend. Hopefully no new injures over the international break and get Rashford and Martial back fit for the return of the premier league.

Can’t get too upset with that when the other team essentially rolls over in the second half. Zero incentive to push it. Totally in control game.

On another note, Varane might have the best positioning ability I’ve ever seen for a footballer at any position. He’s almost literally always in the perfect position. The trickle down effect to that is massive. Truly world class.

We had a lot of good play, just couldn't score more (*cough* Ronaldo *cough*). The ref was awful. I hate Ronnie's continual begging for fouls, but that was a legitimate pen before Sancho's goal. Second half was a bore. Someone needs to tell Harry that the best way to make a forward pass it to face forward when you have the ball. Thought the whole back line was class in the first half, as was Eriksen.

Job done, full control without really looking overly dangerous up front. Erikson passing is key, reminds me so much of scholes on the ball.

It was good enough, Sheriff didn’t really offer much in the game and it became a bit too easy for the team which resulted in a lack concentration at times. Important to get the 3 points though to get us going in this group stage.

Job done, cruising for most of the match. They should have been more ruthless

Just seemed to cruise through this, Sherif are not a very good team. A lot of misplaced passes, control issues with some, generally about 75% effort, which realistically is enough, but if we start like this against city, we will be under a lot of pressure.

That lineup shown before the game was hilarious.

It had Eriksen and Sancho as CMs
McTominay as attacking midfielder
Ronaldo right wing
Bruno left wing
Antony striker

Still all a bit disjointed but important to get the points.

Very average performance but solid result. Eriksen is class. Bruno and Antony need to do more, glad Ronaldo got a goal, the prick.

Ah for feck sake! I got my times wrong and missed to game
You didn't miss much, so don't worry about it. Long periods of pass-pass-pass because they wouldn't commit to pressing us and we wouldn't take risks.

Couple of brief periods of good play resulting in a few chances.

Ronaldo is just a shadow of his former self. How did he get the idea that he was above United standards and should play CL this year. Could be that he just lacks motivation but what we have seen from him this season is not even EL standard

Get in there.

Minimal effort and maximum points is the best you can say there really.

Viva Ronaldo. Although its weird/sad that thats his first goal of the season.

Lovely touch from Sancho wearing the shin pads he was given by that kid.

Not the most exciting match but really good to see us coast to what looked like a pretty easy win. We have a brill starting 11 that will get better over time.

Very boring game, felt like a training session. They more or less were training de Gea passing skills. Played in first gear

Great, we won but Honestly, the tempo of our games is very slow. Players take too many touches and are just slow overall. Until ETH ups the tempo of the team, we will always looks slow and average. Even martinez was taking way too many touches...eriksen is the only player who seems to take one touch or just the right number of touches which is why he always looks class. We play slowly which makes us look terrible and that needs to be fixed. In addition our wingers need to be encouraged to consistently run at their fullbacks. Why play as a winger if you aint got any trickery to beat the defender. They pass back way too much

Boring game. But I prefer a boring win to a spectacular loss. Especially since we lost the first game.

If nothing else it was another game for Varane and Martinez to gel further together, Sancho to actually play 90 minutes, Antony to integrate further into the squad and all without getting out of second gear.

Well - I never got nervous. But it was less enjoying to watch than a pre-season friendly. Our central defenders and McTominay once again good. Dalot as well...no attacking players were above average

Not exactly a great performance. We should have teams like this ground to dust in the first half and then give the reserves some time on the pitch. No point in saving strength either considering our next game is next decade. When we need to take the initiative in a game there's just barely any speed and sharpness to the attack. This was visible against Leicester first, then Soton, then Real Sociedad, and now again. We have three shots on goal, they have two, despite them being utterly passive and almost apathetic. The wings are rarely involved and Ronaldo is just so, so slow. We desperately need an energetic and ruthless CF.

Also, boring game. Still, 3 points is 3 points. I hope we crush them at home.

Annoying that the group looks like it will ultimately come down to the Real Sociedad game which will of course be in Spain. A dodgy pen in that first game may well force us to play a play off to get to the KOs...
