Our midfield isn't good when pressured, this has been obvious for a while.

We have been lucky other teams did not pressure us much.

We bottled it simple as that . We have no leaders on the field and just wasted our chances .

Martial is not a centre forward. It's no good scoring one if you are going to waste three other easy opportunities.

Rashford wasteful as well.

At the back we are terrible . Shaw isn't good enough nor is Lindelof and Captain Marvel is a waste of time . Nice job by him on the corner marking absolutely no one in a Southampton shirt

Southampton were annoying and harassed us all night and deserved a point because we just blew so many chances

We played to our weaknesses in the last quarter of that match. We are not good when we just sit back and invite the pressure. We allowed them to have too much of the ball on our right hand side and allowed them to stop us playing our regular game.
Saying all of this, Romeu clearly should have gone in the first half. Why VAR didn't pick this up is a shocker.
Didn't kill the game off, so in that respect, we got what we deserved.

Martial and Lindelof were the only players awake today, terrible performance and Solskjaer got tactically outclassed by Hasenhuttl. Top 4 now doubtful as we're not beating Leicester.

If 3 weeks ago someone had told you we’d be level on points with Leicester with 3 games to go and a point behind Chelsea I’m sure everyone of us would have snapped their hands off- that’s the positive I’m taking tonight.
Mentality will be tested against Palace - we need to go there and perform!

Pretty shot display. Martial was the only bright spark for me. Sloppy on the ball throughout, Southampton looked the better side. Compulsory to sign more player in most positions as our strength in depth is dreadful. all players look so tired because Solskjaer basically doesn’t have trust in anyone but his best 11.

I´m not annoyed at this, becuase this result was totally expected, All well beating teams when the pressure is off, but when we actually need a result, we bottle it. Peak Man United post SAF really.

Bad sub. Should have kept Pogba on with Greenwood coming off for Fred. I know he and Bruno weren't playing well but we don't maintain possession very well if one of them or both are off the pitch. Our run in is still good, so we should still make it. However if we fail to make CL, Ole has to go. That's the bare minimum. LVG & Mourinho were fired for the same reason.

Good to see James on again for his usual 15 minute nothing cameo. At least press them, AWB wasn’t great today but James didn’t even cover him despite him contributing nothing elsewhere.

This is how our season will end too.
We will have a good score vs Leicester and thn they will knock us out of the CL in the last minute of the game.

Southampton are a nothing team with nothing to play for, yet they fecking played like their lives depended on it. We coasted through and relied on two moments to get us the three points. Their keeper wasn't really tested throughout.

A massive sigh of relief for Leicester and Chelsea. We've really let them off the hook tonight.

Romeu and Lee Mason can feck the feck off.

We play Palace, West Ham and Leicester. All potential bogey teams. Don't be counting those CL chickens just yet. Just hope we don't bottle it like last year.

Or - and this is a revolutionary thought - if we had attempted to keep the ball, occasionally pass it to someone in a red shirt. That, too, might have helped I think.
They were knackered I think... And Southampton are a good side.

This is why we need reinforcements, you can’t play the same 11 week in week out.
Fernandes when he’s off form needs to keep his chin up and maybe play it simple to get back into the match.
Greenwood was double teamed maybe for the first time by a premier side so a learning match for him.

add to that the incredible bad luck to lose our left back and then his replacement!
Shit happens, on to the next one, still a point closer.

Frustrating and now we have to go to Palace in just 3 days and win.

Entertaining game.

Ref was dogshiit.

Southampton are bunch of dirty fekers.

We have our ourselves to blame, we had ample chances to put them away but we didn't and we paid the price in the end.

The way how our CB pairing is, I'm not confident in a win unless we're 4 goals ahead ffs. We can't commit to pressing game because they can't play high up from due to them being fekin snails, which leaves our team stretched when forwards and MF presses the ball.

The last 5 or 6 years, whenever teams above us drop points, we do too. Like clockwork. When an opportunity presents itself, all of a sudden we look dogshit against bang average sides.

Even before the injury, we were parking the bus. When has that ever worked for us? It nearly always backfires.

Rules are rules, but it's a bit shit you can't use one of your subs for a genuine injury when the game is already stopped, just because its not in one of the 3 windows.

The midfield was off today which made things hard for us. Think the lads are tired.

That's a proper kick in the teeth. We had two left backs having to go off, missed some chances to put them away and to give Southampton credit they were good value for a point.

That being said I'm very annoyed with the start we made, then to withdraw in the second half and invite a good side to attack us was disappointing.

In conclusion it's not the end of the world; we've still gained a point on our rivals and are in better form with a better run-in, but again why oh why can't we seem to take that step forward when we're given the chance? It feels like a mental block at this stage and it's quite worrying.

The CL is a glorified FA Cup set to music

We need to cut our losses with Lindelof he’s absolutely shite.
Stop it, twas an unlucky bounce of the ball

Bruno looked like he was running on fumes. Explains why we stood off them in the second half... Credit to Southampton, they played really well. Rashford should have made it 3-1

Think we will still make top 4.

The most intense game since the restart, Southampton work really hard.

When we actually got past the high press we created enough chances to win the game.

If VAR wasn't shite then we win that game.

We had some good moments, the two goals were really worked and the bit of play by Rashford when he almost scored in the second half was brilliant, but overall I don't think we deserved more than a point although we surely would have got it if Romeu had been rightly sent off. The last couple of games we started poorly but were able to come on strong, tonight we played a better side and although we did respond we weren't able to put the game to bed. They had a threat about them all game, we were unlucky to go down to 10 but it was still a poor goal to concede and overall a really frustrating night. We're still in a good position but we will need to play better if we're going to make top 4 and reach an FA Cup final.

Unfortunate to play with 10 at the end. Romeu should've been off.

I hate when we try this sit back and soak up pressure thing. fecking hate it.
That happens when you don't have a 2 goal cushion. The other side will always put men forward to score as they have nothing to lose.

Got what we deserved by being complacent and waiting to see the game out. Can't believe Lindelof let that in and by Obafemi of all players. Terrible all around, no 2 ways around it.

....and Solskjaer has won it!
A couple of one on ones missed and bad decisions meant we left ourselves without a cushion we could have had.

The injuries went against us.

So'ton outdid us in the part of the game without the ball.
