Would be different if this was a real tournament i.e. not a friendly.Good goal, but crazy officiating not to give City a pen before it. Hand above the head and literally blocked a shot.
Similar to our match against Inter, refs appear to be there for show in this tournament. Not making many calls at all.
Is it just me me or does Henderson resemble an ape.Hendo. Big season for him.
Yeah, don't get that.Navas is frightening here! Commentators keep saying we are already in the final?
Do you expect more then that from Johnson and Enrique though? Our full backs have been abysmal.
Think its different with us because of the new manager and clear difference in system and style. Liverpool and City were both missing a decent amount of players though and they are more settled, not trying anything vastly different from last season, so you can't read much into their performances.Seeing a lot of people reading waaay too much into this. The 'don't judge anything based on pre-season' applies just as much to City and Liverpool as it does to us, lads.
Do we only have one more match then if we don't make it?Looks like if we get to the final of this thing we're going to have to play City.
A draw sees us in the final. And yeah, we probably go back home sooner if we don't reach the final.Do we only have one more match then if we don't make it?
Would love to beat Madrid obviously but wouldn't care much if we didn't make the final after van Gaals comments.
yeah... had a United supporter here..that wanted to go watch City in a pre-season friendly and actually thought Gerrard deserved to win teh league last season. He stopped after seeing the strange reaction on my face....Ugh, a fan in a United top applauding Gerrard off the pitch. That's the odd thing about new supporters that pick up a team without any sense of history (or present for that matter).
Whatever the manager says, winning isn't generally the most important thing, so regardless of how many managerial/player changes the team is adapting to, it's never wise to read anything into these games. Theirs or ours.Think its different with us because of the new manager and clear difference in system and style. Liverpool and City were both missing a decent amount of players though and they are more settled, not trying anything vastly different from last season, so you can't read much into their performances.
