Premier League game week 5

Fair play to Chelsea played Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and sit top only conceding one goal.

I definitely believe results against the main top 4 rivals will determine the title, this is where I feel United will definitely fall short. A solid midfield and I'd be confident however as always it seems to be our biggest weakness.

Will be a exciting season though unlike last year.

What I meant was among your last 8 fixtures against united had least probability of winning that you cannot put your finger and assume guaranteed win. A united team with likes of ronaldo, bruno, rashford, greenwood, varane, ddg etc. You think you are 100% guaranteed to win against this lot? If so then you are deluded beyond repairs.

And, you are on united forum posting in chelsea thread which sole purpose is to banter chelsea. So don't expect united fans to be magnanimous before calling them deluded, on their forum.

This isn't the Chelsea thread, but also worth mentioning that the actual Chelsea thread was started by a Chelsea supporter, Duffer.

In fairness it's not suprising people don't include Liverpool, you've won, what? 1 PL in 30 attempts is it? Not a particularly convincing ratio so I'm sure you understand.

Word for word what I said as a twenty something year old in the 90s. Similarities are uncanny.

Weird thing to say word for word back then, Liverpool hadn't won any Premier League titles.

Our own displays and theirs of course. We have the weapons to hurt them. Season has only just begun.
I hope you are right but we have horrible midfield and they have an amazing one. It will be very hard on us, I am afraid

Our only hope, considering our midfield is DvB, Fred and McT while theirs is world class, is that hopefully their form will get a dip later in the season due to exhaustion, injuries, sheer luck of Red Devils or whatever else

Can't dispute that but I'd like to see him when there are injuries to cope with or losses to personnel in general. You learn more through adversity than if your team is on a good run

They are on a good Run because of him though. When he took over from Lamp they were a mess.

Can't disagree there. I'm talking more about this season. We know from experience that where Abramovic is concerned success doesn't guarantee you anything at that club

Chelsea's program considerably harder, I would say

Definitely. Tuchel proving his worth and then some. I remember commenting in this forum back in Dec that if Utd ditch Ole immediately and get Tuchel they would win the league hands down (Utd were top at the time). I was ridiculed as a WUM. I've been searching for that post but the search history won't go that far back. :(

I suppose I should be grateful the Utd board's thought processes are aligned with the fans'.

I'm clinging to a hope that if Liverpool don't win it this year, then that will be it for their title aspirations for many more years to come. I do not see them going on a spending spree of the like that saw them bring in Salah, Fabinho, Alisson, Van Dijk and Keite within 12 months of each other and I would imagine Klopp is less likely to renew at the end of his current contract.

We have much better attack than Chelsea (arguably we have the best attack in EPL right now), arguably our defense is also better than Chelsea's but they have a world class midfield with incredible depth of talent and I have to say - they look way more likely to win the league than we do.

p.s. I don't believe Tuchel to be much better tactician than Ole. Clearly Tuchel built a more balanced team but as far as specific games, Ole has beat Tuchel. Regardless, I think if we had another manager we would still be inferior with current squad because we haven't respected the importance of strong midfield enough.

I did say I would remind you of this at the end of the season but I reckon it’s time now.
