I liked doing the goal scorer for every game at the World Cup, maybe add that for the new season, rather than picking just one player for the game week.
 
Congratulations first of all to @Unitedlife for winning and for running the competition so well.

As I have more time available than @Unitedlife I agreed to take over running the game next season. I have been shadowing @Unitedlife for a good chunk of this season and he has agreed to do the same for me when he can next season.

All suggestions welcome. Best to post them in this thread where other posters can see them and comment. If not you can always DM them to me directly.

A new sticky thread will be in place before the start of next season. Final decisions on the format and rules will be made before the end of July.
 
We want to attract as many posters to enter the competition as possible. Any number of posters can join and at any point during the season.

It was noticed that some posters started late last season and gave up or some that were too far behind also gave up.

Next season there will be more points available and so even if a poster misses a few rounds they still have a chance to win to try to keep everyone's interest to the end of the season.

As the World Cup will be absent this season, I intend to include the Champions League instead, starting from the Group Stages in September. This will run like the Premier league predictions and be included in the overall points total.

The FA Cup from the 3rd round will still be included but maybe on a slightly different format.

There will be bonus points available for the winners of each round of matches.

Had also toyed with the idea of Europa League, EL conference and League cup matches but that would be too complicated and time consuming.

The intention is to have an overall winner plus a winner for just the Premier League, a winner for the FA Cup matches and a winner for the Champions League.

I will also ask the Staff/Mods to give a tag line to the winner(s).

Trying to keep a balance of plenty of interest, plenty of available points but not too complicated that some posters lose interest or too complicated to keep the scores.

Fixtures will be posted at the earliest opportunity before a round of matches and the updated table of scores as soon as possible after each round of predictions.

Especially interested if you wish to change how FGS is worked and open to suggestions and also on the proposed format.

Looking forward to next season. In the meantime let me know your thoughts. Relevant and sensible if possible.

One suggestion as mentioned by @paulscholes18 would be a First goalscorer for every game, but maybe reduce the points to 3 instead of 5.

Yes, it's certainly an idea. If it's popular with everyone then we could do that. 3 points instead of 5 would be better in that case otherwise too many points would be concentrating on the goalscorers rather than the match predictions.
 
How many years has the predictions league been running? Who were previous winners? :-)

I picked it up half way through last season and intend on submitting predictions from the start of next season if that's ok.

I only became aware of it last season but I think it's been running three years. Unitedlife (who has been running it recently) has won it for the last two seasons.

I will be running it next season. Yourself and everyone is else welcome to submit predictions.

A new thread will be launched nearer the start of the season.

As soon as the first fixtures are confirmed and on which days. Game Week 1 fixtures will be published.
