Rashford | sell price is set at 40m

This is easily the most rattled thread on all sides on this forum.

It's really not. His team have just won 3-0 after he was subbed off in final part of the game and we hardly have 10 posts here, and some of them are discussing Watkins.

He's been poor at Villa. I seriously doubt they will look to make the loan permanent, unfortunately.

So, what's the unbiased opinion of his form at Villa then?

Good start but without scoring, did get assists. Then he scored a few goals against Preston and Brighton so went up another level. Last couple of games he's been average so dropping his overall slightly

But scoring against Preston isn't exactly much of an achievement.

While he hadn’t scored he was working hard because he had a point to prove. My Villa supporting mate was in love with how direct he was as soon as he got the ball.

As soon as he scored a couple, the point was “proved” so he dialled it back down to standard Marcus work rate. Him giving up and flapping his arms towards a ball that was still there to be recovered after he’d run it down yet another blind alley against PSG the other night was quintessential Rashford.

To me he's pretty much the same level as he was when he was here. He'd be chipping in with similar numbers if he'd stuck around and played. I'm not seeing anything that different? I think this is just what Rashford is now.

Was very average yesterday unfortunately. Was willing him to get a goal but no dice.
As we know, he’s better off the left so hopefully will get more minutes there now that Watkins is back.

No he hasn't. You can argue if he's been average or better than that but poor is ridiculous. He's had a good thing going with Asensio and provided impetus to them on other occasions.

You can argue whatever you want. For all the fanfare and hype, he's been poor.

They’re likely thrilled at the current deal. Loaning a very good squad player at worst who likely has given their commercial numbers a nice boost. Can’t see them paying £40m for him though.

Yep, he’s physically lost a step due to his injuries and this is just what he offers now. That pace that used to make defenders sit off him isn’t there, he can’t burn past them, he’s not technically very good and he was never a great finisher to start with. This is what’s left.

The Villa Talk forum is turning on him tonight. A lot of posts in their PSG match day thread are familiar to ones found in the Caf the past few years.

Think you could argue they might be winning this if Watkins was starting over him. Has wasted all of their entries into the PSG box and is basically the main cause of PSG's first goal.

Exactly - I reckon he only joined if he'd get a clause in his contract saying he'd start all CL games. He's stolen that position from Watkins who has served Villa well and works where Rashford does SFA.

Emery must be thinking his experience in the competition counts for something.

But Rashford just seems out of ideas. This whole thing about defensive work is missing the big problem. He doesn't on the ball know how to hurt teams anymore. Not with any consistency anyway.

He just looks the same as does here. Which is why he'll be back in the summer.

I don’t think he’s been terrible tonight, just not seeing any substantial improvement either.

Just turned it on and Rashford is killing PSG, I guess he was shit for the rest of the game?

Rashford is playing like prime Bale

Why could he not find this same motivation for his hometown team? So frustrating
