RAWK Goes Into Lockdown 24/25 Edition - Beating The Barcodes in finals isn’t for every bald manager - We have a RAWK insider - No Serious LFC Chat!

Honestly, the rage over the loss seems a bit bizarre, no one wants to lose a final, but they're about to win their 2nd league title in what 30+ years, I'd like to think I'd be a little less hysterical over a league cup defeat.
Think it’s been building up tbh. The FA cup loss, the being outplayed by PSG and now that horrific display yesterday.
This all on the back of a lot of people (even those in their fanbase) questioning whether this is actually a great team or not.
It’s also a hugely wasted chance, they were so far clear in the league they should have really shown more in these other three comps and they’ve gone out with a whimper.

It's venting due to the realisation their team aren't as good as they thought they were.

They have been fairly consistent, but their run away position at the top of the league has had as much to do with the inconsistency of their usual rivals as their own consistency.

It was pretty clear to me from what I was seeing on the pitch, very good results but nowhere near the performance levels of Klopps best teams.

Always felt they might struggle against a champions league team in decent form and wasn't sure how they'd do in the cup final, wasn't absolutely shocked to see them get beat though.

A good team, but far from great despite what the league table looks like in my opinion.

Been questioning it all season, truly baffled how they've been winning game after game all season in the league. Almost every game I watched there was a slice of fortune, or a gift from the opposition. I've never seen anything like it. Once Salah stops producing miracles also, they're simply not even a fraction of the force.

Its a shame they are so far ahead of the rest of the pack at this point and that its Arsenal chasing them. Would have made for a fun few months.

From official Liverpool forums

We’ve only got ourselves to blame for losing the final yesterday, but what was that VAR check all about?

How could it take so long to decide that was a goal and why go back so many times for nothing?

Not only does that accentuate the suspicion that they wanted to find any reason not to award us a goal, but it also killed our momentum. The fans got quieter in the stadium as we waited and it allowed Newcastle more time to regroup.
In a game where we didn't deserve anything it still bugs me how much referees influence games with their incompetence.

The Trippier touch completely changes the direction of the ball. It's a clear pen.

And over 2 minutes check for a goal that's completely legitimate gives Newcastle time to regroup and take a breath to see out the game.
It’s an absolute stone wall penalty. He moves the ball with his outstretched arm in the box.

His arm wasn’t “out for balance” as was the justification of why it wasn’t given.
The ref was terrible yesterday. Just flat out allowed Newcastle to get away with murder. Never mind the nailed on pen, some of the challenges their midfield were allowed to get away with were baffling.

I mean they've had a lot of help from Salah, and even more help from the referees.

Yep, here they are moaning about a handball decision as if that changed the game. They should have been 3/4-0 down in the first place before they got their goal.

Such weird fans crying about refereeing, when they have got majority of decisions their way. They still use the Spurs offside goal to defend that claim.

No team has overturned a gap this large at this stage in the season.

Its still mathematically possible, however improbable... but the fact remains, its possible and the fallout would be glorious if it did happen.

It would raise sea levels with the volume of spit and tears flowing into the Mersey

Before the game

I want the Saudis going into the final thinking they will win it. Just like in '74.
I think most of them have already given up hope. That said, there is something about going into a final being such clear favourites that never sits easily with me.
I don't want to live in a world where I give a feck which Newcastle players are available for a game against us.

Bring on Isak, Gordon, Jimmy Nail, Shearer, Malcolm McDonald, Phillipe Albert, Sam Fender, Spuggie. No problem.
I wonder if Isak is a doubt at all or if they are just reserving minutes for him
They could have Shearer, Waddle, Keegan, Gaza, etc... we'll still snot them.
As long as we don’t get complacent, and this team doesn’t do that, we will be fine and will win.
I hope he plays. He is obviously not 100% ...
We'll be 2 up in first 45 so no stress
Smash into these Human Rights abusing c*nts.

4-0 Redmen.

After the game

"I whored myself out to a murderous regime and all I got was the lousy league Cup"
Newcastle United as a football club ceased to exist about three and a half years ago. They still haven't won a trophy, the drought continues. Saudi Arabia have broken their three and a half year trophy drought in the meantime. There's no congratulations to be had for any of the Newcastle fans registered on RAWK unless they're Saudi Arabian, and they're cheering for a despotic, journalist murdering, homophobic, sexist, human rights abusing, sports washing regime.
Shitsucking oil cheats jill,a stain on the game.
That crap they had wouldn't be anywhere close to midtable if it wasn't for the hundreds of millions spent on Isak, Joelinton, Guimares, Tonali etc.
I assume they can now use that cup win to justify a £3bn sponsorship deal for their hot dogs
I don't particularly like Howe and his disproportionately sized head.
All it took for them to end their 70-odd year wait for a trophy was the bankrolling of a despotic oil state and the other team bankrolled by a despotic oil state having an off season. Well done to everyone involved.
The most grating thing for me has been the rhetoric around how they are doing all of this in an organic/sustainable way under their despotic owners. Are they feck, they're throwing piles of cash at that squad and have done since the first window they arrived

They spent €130m in that January window, including buying Chris Wood from Burnley just so they went down and Newcastle stayed up at their expense. Then they spent €185m the next season, including €70m for Isak. And then another €140m in the season after that, including €59m on Tonali. Finally another €70m this season including some very obvious, dodgy PSR deals

So that's half a billion in 3 and a half years spent on players, most of whom wouldn't even consider moving to Newcastle before the takeover, and yet they are being painted as a rags to riches story and it knocks me sick. feck them and anyone who supports them

I have a modicum of sympathy for the RAWKites in so much as Newcastle represent the problem with Premier League sportswashing of barbaric regimes. But still worth laughing at them

Yeah, we're witnessing the rise of Man City 2.0 and it will be to our detriment too.

Despite it happening to Liverpool and it did please me. Those "after" comments aren't necessarily wrong. I don't like this "new" Newcastle at all.. pretty much cheats like Shitty.

feck em, they've probably enjoyed city embarrassing us.

This were the same bunch of assholes who were cheering at the aguero moment, they backed city to stop us. i did told my friend that night, some day it will happen to them. Watching karma all over their butts past few years is small consolation. Newcastle it's City 2.0, funny but make no mistake, it's phase 2 off footballs slow death.
