Rayan Cherki

He also convinced me in this game. Would prefer him over Cunha.

Feels like a no brainer signing for me.
It is a no brainer, especially at the price quoted. 25 mill.

If he doesn't do well here we'd still be able to recoup that amount and sell him to a Spanish side or something. It's a low risk - high reward signing. Unfortunately, it's the type of signing we usually don't make.

Great player. Don't let him get on the plane before signing the contract.

I might be hallucinating but I think I heard Julien Laurens on Totally Football Show saying something along the lines that while amazingly talented, his attitude needs fixing. This was like 1-2 years ago.

I think he's still got a lot to learn but I like him. Old school talent in many ways and good to watch. Decision-making will come as he gets older as with all youngsters.

Get him and the Southampton player this summer (alongside a striker) and I’ll be very happy

Don’t think he has the pace for the epl.

He's certainly got enough to cause our defence trouble. I know that's not necessarily saying much but if we could sign both Cherki and Fofana I think at the very least our bench depth would be scary for opponents even if they didn't both immediately slot in to the first XI.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a German team come in for him.

Usually this is a massive problem but he can get away with it because his dribbling with both feet is so good.

He looked very dangerous in central areas today, we badly need another attacking midfielder

He's a good player and eventhough there has been murmurs about his attitude, he's definitely someone who could be worth the gamble for a low transfer fee. But there's also another player who is at Sunderland currently in Chris Rigg who is quite similar to Cherki and turns 18 in June. I think Chris Rigg would also represent a good move for us due to his high potential. I think he's another player who is very technically adept and can play as the wide playmaker or a central attacking playmaker.

Rigg is a center mid. The kind we should be targeting long term as a playmaker from deep.

I just can’t understand the skepticism. He’s one of the best technical and creative talents on the continent, and is available for what amounts to pennies in modern transfer fees. Miss me with the “oh his entourage is annoying” shite or concerns that he doesn’t run enough. If you want a team of cardio merchants then don’t complain when your side looks completely out of ideas against any decent low block.

Get him in please. Several key passes where he cut inside and found the opposing winger / fullback were class too.

Almada looks a decent player too. But Cherki just does everything so effortlessly. He could be a top player if he really wants to be.

Won’t be easy signing this guy.. everyone will be in for him including Liverpool and if we don’t win Europa I doubt he’ll want to come here without any European football

I'm not sure if Amorim would utilise him in a deeper role. He's played all over the park from what I've seen from the youth teams to now the first team. I think due to his versatility, he would be a player I would prioritise signing. But it seems like the competition for his signature may well be tougher due to ourselves, Bayern and Dortmund reported to want him.

For sure, I'd take him over Cherki, even though I like the idea of having him in the team. The winger they brought on, Fofana, also looked pretty good. But it has to be said, United has a knack of making players look good as soon as their dribbling is above the "good"-level

His finish for the third goal was Messi-like. Quick feet, rifled a shot low and hard and it’s in the net before you can react. Didn’t even pull his leg back that far, you’re not quite sure how he gets the power in it but he does. Great goal, he was a threat all night.

I don't think it's a coincidence that everything went to shit for Lyon after Cherki went off. We should be doing everything we can to sign him

Others have said that he's fine and the "bad attitude" stuff is unfair/unfounded or perhaps outdated.

I think we'll probably regret not trying to get him. The games against us were seemingly not even particularly good by his standards but I really liked what I saw of him. Technically very good and a proper playmaker

Feels like one that our rivals would sign and he'd torture us many years to come - for that reason alone get him signed

He's a creative attacking midfielder, who can hold the ball in tight spaces, goes past players, create chances in the final third, score goals and is fairly conservative with the ball. He's basically Odegaard without the pressing but seems like he can be coached to put in a good effort off the ball (at least from a tactical POV). They even shared similar career development as teenage prodigies. If he's really available for £20-30m/euro, it's a no brainer.

He'd be good at times no doubt, but we'd lose shape off the ball. We are building twoards an athletic club which can go head to head any PL team which are all technical and athletic. CHerki lacks that athleticism. Sure he's a good value but we count every penny. On the other hand, Id rather have another Cherki than Dorgu.
