Danny Drinkwater scored scored the first with a shot on the turn following a cross from Eikrem. Fabio looked very lively and sharp and almost got on the score sheet a couple of times before going off near the end. Lee Martin also looked quite good before going off injured. Could'nt really tell much more because it was only 15 mins of highlights

De Laet played in central defence.....

When we list the teams

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

etc

2 is right back, 3 is left back (like Gary and Patrice) and 4 & 5 normally central defence. Sometimes a midfielder is 4 and then the centre-backs are 5 & 6 (like Hargreaves, Rio and Wes)

With the junior teams it changes but usually the defence is 2-5.

We don't list them in position order across the pitch.

Was there much on the show in regards to how Fabio performed?
Very brief highlights and looked like we dominated the game so it was impossible to have any idea how well he defended.

Going forwards he looked impressive. At one point he raped their right-back with a series of step-overs. Nice.

Mind you, Lee Martin seemed to be getting a lot of joy against the same player, which puts that into perspective.

Alright thanks for that.. But I was just wondering because I thought Evans normally played at CB..

only showed 15 minutes. In that time fabio looked good, as you'd expect - positive. De Laet didn't touch the ball and Manucho unlucky to not get on the end of one or two moves only touched the ball a handful of times

So the highlights weren't great let's say that.

Drinkwater - who scored the goal spun on a low cross into the box placing it into the bottom corner

Cheers Pogue, much appreciated buddy.

A few years back when we played Celtic in a pre season game, Martin had a cracking game and at the time did look like he could certainly make the squad...not so sure now either.

I wonder if Fabio will get a look in for the Carling Cup squad with Evra being injured...

How is Eirkem doing?

Progressed or not?

There was talk about him going to a championship side on loan.

Technically very good but hes very very small and weak hasnt really progressed much since he arrived although he missed a bit of football when he was diagnosed with diabetes

Football is about glory, it is about doing things

I seem to remember the staff were not expecting big things from him until the age of at least 20-21 when he signed, precisely due to his physique. That he has been diagnosed with diabetes in the meantime is bound to have had an impact. Does he look as if his technique could eventually compensate for his slight build, as with Scholes?

Eckersley is injured - Albiston said something about him being out for 2 months and that must have been late november so he should be back soon (training accident)

Galbraith practically hasn't played for 1.5 years so I think we can give up that lad

Well hes slighter than scholes ever was and most players that small who make it make up for it with pace or exceptional technique and a dont honestly think he has enough
