Obertan is on his way out with that kind of decline. First half hat-trick followed by nothing in the second 45. Sad to see.

Sell the lot of them.

Especially that Scholes fella, he'll never amount to anything.

Cheers for that, CLK!

I'm loving O'Shea's showboating for the second and the third. Obert's third was nice. Not even a glimpse of Lindegaard.

Is Fabio playing in midfield more often now/ looking like his regular position?

Shows you high bloody high the standard of football is needed for the first team when O'Shea, often derided as an average/lousy player, can do such skills in the reserves.

True that. It certainly puts into perspective the clamour to fast-track x, y and z from our reserves into the first team after a few good games at reserve level. When you see O'Shea take the piss like that it really highlights the gulf in class between reserve and first-team football.

It also highlights how cretinous some of the O-Shea haters are but that's a debate for another thread/forum. Speaking of which, any of you techtards able to make a gif of Sheasy's Cruyff turn in the last reserves game?

the same o'shea who nutmegged figo? cj4_elmo o'shea had the beating of the player but that's one kid and very short highlights. The part where he brings the ball down, could he do that in front of 70,000+ people? Maybe.

Nice third by Obertan

That season was

I reckon he could pull it off in a real game though, just that the consequences of screwing it up in an actual game would be disastrous, hence him keeping his game simple after his debut season for us.

Which is why most of our better reserves players get sent out on loan to Championship sides. You learn so much more when the game actually has something at stake.

I reckon the reserves team is more suitable for those too good for the under 18s or first team players who need the match fitness.
