Back in 1972, Hereford United were a non-league side who made it to the 3rd round of the FA Cup. They drew Newcastle away, a team that boasted goal machine Malcolm MacDonald. The first game ended 0-0 and the replay took place on an absolute quagmire of a pitch on the same day that other teams were playing their 4th round games. The story was that MacDonald said he was going to put 10 past Hereford (he denied this later) and the stage was set. Hereford won and Ronnie Radford's goal will live on in the annals of FA Cup history when the competition really was magical.
