When you're the biggest club in the country, you're there to be shot at. I'm afraid it just goes with the territory. We are the biggest British club by some distance, so we're the team everyone wants to beat, and I'm sure it's just the same for Bayern Munich, Juventus, Real Madrid/Barca. We have the money, the glamour, the history, so of course supporters of other clubs resent it. I don't have a problem with that; what annoys me is the accusations of arrogance and United fans not being from Manchester etc. It's rubbish but has become an urban myth. I have no problem at all with people from outside Manchester supporting the club, but there are plenty of us here too: I'm in Salford, which must be over ninety per cent United. The vast majority of people I know and work with are United fans.
