Anyone watching Newcastle wondering why Longstaff is worth £25m let alone £50m?
Very poor game so far
Newcastle will go down
So far, glad we didn't waste any money on him. Let him really prove himself this season or fade from our sights. Very poor performance from him today.
So glad we did not get him. Looks really average. I like the look of Mcginn though.
To be honest I didn't realise that he was playing. Or more correctly he was in the Newcastle side. Completely anonymous. But I should not judge him on one performance, poor as it is.
You guys sound like you're suprised.
Was he coming back from an injury?
I think just maybe we can be thankful for this.
Kid's obviously got a long way to go to prove he's worth anywhere near a decent fee.
No static Matic, no chuckle brothers.. very pleased.
He looks shite tbh.
You've never seen him before?
Looked good under rafa. Have a feeling not a single player will look good in this Newcastle side
Was average today. A few tackles but barely noticeable with the ball
Yeah an ACL injury
Thank god we didnt sign him.
And they wanted 50 mil.
Wait and see how he develops. He barely played in the PL to be fair and after the injury, it can go either way. Glad we didnt sign him for that money, huge risk.
First time I've seen him play. Was expecting something special considering the hype.
Unfair to judge on just one game but he was absolutely awful, static, lazy, hardly touched the ball -surely he must be better than that.
Talk about knee jerk.
In the clips I’ve seen of him he looks to be a proper player of real quality.
Average to poor game today but what does that prove to anyone ? Shock, horror Newcastle footballer has bad game. People who write him off and say ‘glad we didn’t sign him’ on the back of his first game in 7 months after serious injury really are clueless and can’t be real football watchers.
Worst I've seen him play.
I didn't want us to sign him but please remember he has not played competitive football for 5 months so must be rusty as feck. Based off your feedback it sounds as though he was out of sorts and not his usual self as his clips make him seem someone who wants to get on the ball. Patience. Let's see 10 games in, what his form is like
Me too, think he can play at a higher level. The goal was a really nice finish....
One game shouldn't sway an opinion. Especially not after a lengthy injury lay off. I've not seen enough of him to have an opinion on his worth.
Only watched the first half but agreed. Had to actively look for him.
Rice did not look like anything special against City either.
