We have been poor all season long and have conceded 3 goals out of 6 in the PL under Solskjaer on set pieces.

When defending corner kicks, we man-mark opponents and only Pogba and Rashford play zonal around the near post. As a result, we are always reacting and many times late following the opponent. Vulnerable when opponent sets up screens to break the marking. H

Today we got exposed during the first goal - for me Matic was late, but De Gea should have come and claimed it. On the following corner De Gea came out, missed the ball and only a Pogba deflection saved Dani Alves' shot from going in.

Feels like set pieces are a real weakness that needs to be addressed soon.

Just said the same in the De Gea thread. It is a massive weakness and we look like conceding sooner or later. Even under Jose we were shit.

We also have this unwanted ability to not beat the first man with corners. We can't defend them properly and we certainly aren't looking like scoring when we are the ones taking. Seen some innovation with our setup from an attacking sense against PSG which was encouraging. Hopefully Ole's continues to address the issue.

Our inability to clear corners has been happening since Fergies' days. Even with Vidic there we still struggled. When Van der Sar joined he saw the problem straight away and tried to deal with every corner. We really are a soft touch in those situations, even though we have plenty of height we lack a warrior.

Almost a year on and not a single sign of improvement - in fact, we have gotten insanely worse at this. The percentage of set-piece goals conceded compared to total goals conceded is the worst in the league by far. We also have an atrocious record of not scoring from them.

What is it lads? This is a purely strategical + tactical problem and has absolutely nothing to do with signings.
