Over the years we have seen teams raise there game when playing us(West Ham for example). Obviously we are struggling this season but you look at our results this season and we have only 2 wins in the league against Chelsea and Leicester, also draws against Liverpool and Arsenal.

But we have Lost to Palace, West Ham, Newcastle while drawing away to 10 man Southampton, Rochdale and Alkmaer.

It seems we have become that team get something out the good sides and drop points to all the mid table sides. Why do you think this is ?

Because most of the 'lesser' sides will just give us a ball and watch us do feck all with it. Top sides will try to play their game against us and will give us space and chance to counter, the only thing we can score from.

Exactly.

If we're still like this in 10 years, then you can call us game raisers.

I think our interpretation of "game-raising" was pretty skewed anyway. Keepers like Tom Heaton would make saves from shots that were right at him and this place would rain down on him for his supposed superman performance. If a goalkeeper doesn't dive out of the way of a shot by a United player, he's a "game raising cnut"

I don't believe game-raising really is a thing that happens. Counter-attacking is just very effective. And now we're doing that in the bigger games because we don't have the ability to dominate.

We are. When we play alright against Liverpool but not against anyone else there's no argument otherwise.

No. It’s got nothing to do with raising our game. It’s purely the difference between being the offensive team (which we are crap at) and the counter-attacking team (which we are reasonable at)

We have filled our team with pace merchants and very little else hence counter being the only viable option.
